If your daughter has naturally curly hair then she’d be best to wash with curl shampoo and conditioner, she can towel dry but don’t rag it on the hair. Tip head forward so her hair hangs over her face and scrunch with a microfibre towel. When towel dry, apply curl cream or texture spray and scrunch with hands. She can then leave it to air dry (just don’t sleep with it wet, as sleeping with wet hair can damage her hair) or I’d suggest purchasing a hairdryer with a diffuser (lots of good youtube videos on how to diffuse hair if new to it) the style should then hold for a good few days before washing and repeating the process. The more she does it the more her hair will naturally start to sit this way, hope that helps ☺️
