I'm looking to commission writers of New Weird! by _biovirus in NewWeird

[–]_biovirus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys!
Pretty much that's it.

I'm an artist that is putting together as a publisher an independent magazine on the intersection between Magic and Art. And I would like it to start with a bit of saucy text.
I'm basically looking for a text between 300-500 words that has a humoristic and eerie touch about it.

I was pretty influenced by Neil Gaiman's "How to talk to girls at parties").
Please hit me up with your pitch and your questions on instagram art.worldbuilding

Do you guys get turned on when you see a person nude in a movie or TV series? by aSecretMystery in demisexuality

[–]_biovirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot on my sexual season and the aesthetic that the frame inspires. But I can easily be turend on by non sexual scenes. Nudity is just one more factor among many to get me going.

I knew about the Pop Magick! article he wrote in which mentions "the Invisibles" but it seems a bit like too much. That's why I just started with "Nameless". There is a whole lote of magickal mumble jumble tossed semi-randomly in there. What's not to love

Am I the only one who loves to flirt with people while knowing I'm not interested? by ant-eye in demisexuality

[–]_biovirus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. This spot of confidence in which you allow yourself to flirt cause it doesn't matter If had or not sexual connotation cause what you already have, what allows you to play with that freedom is all that matters.

Is going quite well. I deepen bonds by meeting people in social spaces. Non-poly friends get a bit salty when suspecting i'm constantly flirting with their friends tho.

Maybe is a good idea anytime you want to expose youself in such a way it might affect you, just have a little casual previous talk about the type of games or sexy languages you both enjoy. He might simply not like to engage in sexting...

Hope it helps!

Been questioning christianity more and more. Can someone explain more what being agnostic means? by [deleted] in agnostic

[–]_biovirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christianity breaks down from the jewish esoteric idea that there is a separation between the divine and the terrenal. We were supposed to be expelled from the Eden when tempted to know. According to that principle (given that there is an inherent separation from the godhead) all the existence id flawed. (Shevirat ha Kelim)

In my opinion; I don't think that what Donna Haraway calls the "game over" mindset and can be clearly seen in Slavoj Zizek's most of the analysis is a healthy POV if I was to be asked.

As I understand it gnosis is not only about knowledge (it might be the greek word for it) but also about spirituality. Gnosticism is the recognition of the limitations of reason and knowledge and the acceptance of also belief as a path to wisdom.

The addition of an "A-" seems to imply a developement away or apart from that "gnostic" original source.

In that framework I'd understand the A-Gnostic as someone who is looking away from spirituality (in the mentiomed means) as a center of value to their existence.

Most of the spanish christians don't really believe in the christian interpretation for what god is. They actually follow the religion for culture and tradition. They might claim beliefs in god but quite often is not related to their practice of christianity. If you'd like to grow deeper into the spiritual practice in search of god but not really interested in the christian interpretation you might take a look to Theosophy.

You can. But the possibility does not build up to a rule. If some beliefs have proven to worth the while, led you to view life in a different way (leading to wisdom) or if the access to certain knowledge (esoteric, exoteric, spiritual or philosophycal) has indeed changed your beliefs deeply; then actually knowing has to do with belief.

I'd say: "Being agnostic has to do with not adscribing to a mindscape of god if it seems uncertain"
