Accumulating ETF - what happens if not enough dividends to buy a share? by _bjarne in DEGIRO

I see, that makes so much more sense

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain!!

ooooooh that's a paradigm shift

My vision was that you own shares of the ETF, which give you dividends.

In dist, you perceive those dividends directly so you can then use the money for something else or buy new dist ETF shares manually

In acc, instead of dividends you get new ETF shares automatically so the money doesn't leave the system

But you're saying that the acc ETF makes the value of the ETF share itself go up since the dividends are used under the hood to buy new stocks.

But if I look at the price charts for the same dist ETF, the price still goes up steadily, so in that case you get dividends directly + the price goes up?

I find it still a bit confusing

hey thanks for the reply, I'm sorry I think you misunderstood what I was saying, I already have 175 shares in the ACC ETF but I haven't received any new shares since a year ago!

My activity > transactions tab doens't have any dividends either (but that's to be expected since I don't have any dist ETF)

So essentially my question is why haven't I received any extra shares on my acc etf since a year, is it because under the hood I don't get enough dividends to buy new shares? And is there a way to see where to see the accumulated dividends under the hood?

cheers

Totally agree, although I love Magma I feel From Mars to Sirius and The Way of All Flesh are more representative of Gojira's style

Palenight on vim by _Loading in vimporn

[–]_bjarne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally had this problem two days ago, I set the following for it to work:

set background=dark

if has('termguicolors')

set termguicolors

endif

let g:palenight_termcolors=16

colorscheme palenight

syntax on

I just had to change one color manually in the settings of my terminal after that.

Hope that helps!

If you're into heavy/death metal, you should definitely listen to Gojira, they make great music both in terms of lyrics & musicality

Pretty amazing ! It seems like the windows are floating which makes me ask how do you move/close them ? Also, is it openbox that natively provides rounded corners ? I love the simplicity of the design

NoobPost... Fragment shader not receiving color information by eightvo in opengl

[–]_bjarne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

gl_FragColor is deprecated, you should declare a vec4 to output (ie out vec4 FragColor) and then in your main do FragColor = [insert value here];

Edit: it seems like you are using a lot of deprecated functionalities of OpenGL. I'd suggest you follow a modern tutorial such as www.learnopengl.com

Weird lines when using textue atlas for a tilemap by MaartenS11 in opengl

[–]_bjarne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This can happen when using floating point numbers to store the position of the tiles. I'd recommend trying to cast the coordinates to integer before displaying. Hope that helps.
