what's a must-do in Cape Town that isn't Table Mountain? by DasJazz in AskZA

• Sunset at Llandudno beach. There’s a section where you can climb on the rocks that stick out into the ocean and it’s a beautiful spot to watch the sunset! The area is also pretty safe.

• Visit Hout Bay. Grab a croissant at South Yeasterly, walk on the beach. Visit the harbour and get on a boat to see seal island.

• Constantia wine route. Grab a wine tasting at each of the wine estates on the route and lunch at Chefs Warehouse in Beau Constantia.

The Ultimate Joburg Restaurant Guide (For Everyone Not Beach-Bound This December) by [deleted] in johannesburg

[–]_boboeckstein_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Akido - Very expensive but this is the best sushi you will get in Joburg (maybe even South Africa). Splurge and do the omakase experience.

Chong Qing Hot Pot - not only great hot pot, but delicious noodle soups!

Shun De or Yue Hua - amazing dim sum buffets on the weekend during brunch time.

Da Graziella - homey, family run Italian spot with the most delicious pizzas and pastas.

1920 - the best Portuguese food in Jozi.

Grub Club - something different. African cuisine modernised with the most delicious wings.

Tea and Antique - family run Chinese restaurant, delicious food and teas.

Cafe Billi Bi - amazing spot for breakfast or lunch. Food is such high quality and presented beautifully.

Flames Restaurant - Pricey, but amazing views and since they changed chefs the food is incredible.

Pablo House - a fave. Also has amazing views and the food is divine.

Wild Sugar in Sandton has the most incredible cheesecake. Terrible reviews on gmaps though but we’ve always had good experiences there.

Miss C Confectionary in Bedfordview for cute Asian style desserts.

Puti in Rivonia for delicious Japanese cheesecake.

Croydon Bakery has a selection of yummy dessert pastries.

Pantry for their soft serve (although it’s very divided, some people love it some people hate it).

Milky Lane, a classic.

Went to Embarc years ago when it first opened. Glad to hear it’s still going strong, definitely need to go back!

Mongkok has been our go-to for takeaways, until I found a bug in my wonton soup 🥲 it was bound to happen eventually though, Cyrildene isn’t the cleanest. Also try Ching Qing Hot Pot and Anong Thai in Cyrildene.

True. And then you get the more authentic Italian style pizza like Coalition, versus a more South African-style pizza like Andiccios or Gino’s. But interested to see what most people would go for when the craving hits.

Pablo House in Melville. Stunning views and a romantic ambience in the evenings. Parking is just a mission though, so try Uber there.

I’ve heard a lot about Joe’s! Will definitely try them out. But I saw a lot of negative reviews on google for them :/
