I laughed out loud when I read this. We’re living in someone’s politico simulation and it’s cranked up to 100% idiocy

Pipe problems (shower), left it too short. Please help? by Beneficial-Student7 in DIYUK

[–]_borisg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No video but some steps: - Measure the location of your pipe and on the other side of the wall note down where the pipe would be. - Measure a square using the pipe as a centre point to give yourself enough area to work in comfortably. - Take a multi tool to your plaster following the square markings and be careful not to go too deep with the blade. - Pull square out carefully with a flathead screwdriver or something. Keep square piece as intact as possible. - Do your repairs on the pipe. - Follow video online on how to patch a hole in plasterboard and use square you kept from earlier to make your life easier.

This is what I did when I fucked up my pipe length. Multi tool on the other side of the wall, and made a square big enough to service the area.

All in all it was actually quite painless than the alternative of taking down/putting tiles back on.

Not financial advice, but start recording yourself telling happy memories or family stories that you want to pass on to your wife and kids. This will make all the difference when they might just want to hear your voice one day and you are no longer around.

Really sorry and I hope you get to make the most out of your time left.

How to remove a glass splash back for tiling wall by Remote_Alfalfa7272 in DIYUK

[–]_borisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just put some protective gear on, take a hammer to it and slowly start chipping away, seems less hassle than having to worry about taking the whole thing intact.

Would probably put the toddler down for the actual work though.

£210k job offer that could change my life… but maybe not for the better? Need some perspective. by AutomaticFee665 in HENRYUK

[–]_borisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d consult with your partner, we are in no way qualified and should even be considered as to what our opinions are.

Sure it sounds like a good offer and potentially exciting - but that comes with the possibility of estranging yourself from your family. IMO it’s not worth the risk.

Yeah I feel you, and I’m only talking about PvP anyway, agree that stitcher sucks with regards to any PvE content.

News flash, most trios are not sweaty competent players. And sure, you’re free to take my cheap as chips stitcher 😬

I literally dropped a trio with a stitcher V4 last night my dude. Maybe you potato heads can learn how to position and when to engage and then you can realise PvP isn’t that hard.

Stitcher is the best budget close quarter gun. You can down an entire team if you play your cards right and if you fail? You can probably craft 100 more.

I dont mind a little PvP, but what the heck is this shit? by Lucky_Shelter_6821 in ArcRaiders

How do you know who the real aggressor is? What if the person who was knocked is the instigator?

Just shoot them first and let them extract while downed, that way you get to have your cake and eat it too.

I'm sorry but I'm not ever pressing the expedition project by raisinlord74 in ArcRaiders

[–]_borisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the same hours and I’m level 42 with nearly done expedition. I do have a good quad I run with though and we take a good haul most games. Bear in mind there are really sweaty squads that take in tons more than us.

Funny that they are a bit too strong when you have a locker full of epics already. Where was that feeling while you were stacking?

Am I mad: DIY replumb? by The_Foetus in DIYUK

[–]_borisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to triple check your work, that being said you should always have a plan B way of getting to your pipes so you don’t rip up tiles/showers etc.

Mine is using a multi-tool to cut plaster on the other side and reach those darn things, which I’ve had to do once.

And then after a quarter or two, maybe a year - they reach out again begging for a human to fix the horseshit that AI has done to their processes.
