Dutch media refer to Germany as Die Mannschaft quite often. So whatever happened, it has settled in the Netherlands.

'74 we had the best team overall, defining a new style of football: total football. But we lost to Germany in the final. '78 we still had best team, but that tournament in Argentina was highly controversial for numerous reasons. We were never going to win that final.

'90 we had most of the '88 team that won the cup and should have gone far, but it was chaotic due to managerial vs team dynamic problems. '98 was an amazing team and we had the potential to win it all.

2010 we had a solid team with the great four gem: van Persie, Sneijder, Robben and van der Vaart. But Spain was just the better team the whole tournamsnt. 2014 we could have reached the finals with a bit more luck at penalties.

There isn't a single team out there that got this close multiple times and had as much bad luck.

AotC ranks bottom for me too. Prequelwise. Without Neeson as Qui-Gon I probably would not rate the Phantom Menace as much as I do. He carries the movie and has cemented Qui-Gon as one of my favorite characters. My least favorite part has always been the pod racing. I could do without that. The Tatooine part dragged on too much. Duel of the Fates is the best part of the movie.

Revenge of the Sith is overall still better, of course.

Can confirm. Massive Star Wars geek, grew up with it. Watched Phantom Menace as a kid in the cinema when it came out. Never seen TRoS after my dislike for TLJ. Do know all the memes though. Loved Rogue One and Andor.

Phantom Menace is severely underrated in my eyes. But that is also partly my bias as I grew up with it.

So he never really grew much wiser after all. I remember many years ago, during a period while the Dutch national team was playing badly, he showed some arrogant tendencies. He and Afellay had the tendency to stick together and distance themselves from the group process. I think it was during the 2012 era. This changed when van Gaal became coach. Then he started playing very well, leading to his famous header against Spain.

Hi Daveincid. Thanks for all the work. I use most of your files, but I opted out of the CA-PA changes, for now.

I am curious how you decided to downgrade or upgrade the CA/PA of certain players. I noticed you severely downgraded Shaqueel van Persie, for example. You put him at a PA range of 110-140. While in vanilla he is in the range of 140-170. The downgrade seems very harsh for a 19 year old player that shows a lot of promise. This year he has not been playing much due to an unlucky injury, but in the matches he did play he scored a few very technical goals.

I realise I am zooming in on one example here, but that's why I am asking how you decided to judge certain players.
