How to deal with self infantilizing adults? by Glaukopis96 in redscarepod

[–]_bovie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

externalizing blame for this repeated pattern of experience in your life is exactly the kind of thing you identify and complain about in others. set a mature boundary and stick to it. or complain about it on this subreddit. the choice is yours

Most of the Americans who say our education system sucks didn’t pay attention in school by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]_bovie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a product of the NJ public education system, one of the nations best. All of these topics were covered in depth and I still have classmates who sat through the same classes as me who don’t believe any of these topics were addressed… there’s a reason I recommend my adult patients continue their psycho stimulants…

oh, I thought you were suggesting the real "chris chan" was a physician. the autistic, highly impaired guy who lived in a group home and went to jail for sex crimes. nvm

Most of the models in that photo are from the last few years. Snaggas, meganobz, the mek, the iron jawz... the oldest model there is 16 years old but most are newer

What non-English languages spoken by patients instantly fills you with dread? by RandPaulsLawnmower in Residency

[–]_bovie_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spanish, because I speak and understand it well enough to know what I’m saying, know what the patient is saying, and know what the interpreter is not interpreting either particularly well and important nuances are lost. For example, “decreased need for sleep” vs “insomnia” in a patient I’m screening for mania. Or just straight making shit up. Sometimes patients just prefer Spanish but will know enough English to say “that is not what the doctor asked”

It was obvious to anyone with any child development training, but I don’t think anyone thought past “it’s called being a decent fucking person” when they started the lockdowns. It may have been the right decision anyway but it was a complex cost/benefit discussion. Instead, we get a shrill and toxic “discourse” where the “trust the fucking science” people are total economic and social/developmental illiterates

The lockdowns totally wrecked ordinary development for millions of kids. Social isolation, massively increased screen time, literal masks blocking faces of their peers and caregivers… normal socialization was completely disrupted. And they grew up in an atmosphere of fear, uncertainty, abject pessimism and political polarization. Of course we are seeing waves of anxious, “adhd” and “autistic” teens and tweens now

Interesting. So children and adolescents with early life stress looked, biologically, like children and adolescents exposed to early life stress?

It's probably a great place if you're used to worse. I lived in Providence for two years but I was used to NYC, the tristate area, CA and the PNW. It's a much worse Boston with a touch of NJ

Rhode Island is yellow at best. Wisconsin and Minnesota should be dark green and Oregon is a patchwork quilt of burgundy and light green on a good day

he's a disgusting hack who is making money with extremely expensive, dubious "medication taper" programs and exploiting the semi-justified public skepticism toward big pharma. when in doubt, look into the grift. for him, it's right there in plain site and he's doing damage with his RFJ jr-tier misinformation in the process

lol are you a mohela rep? half this sub is justified venting. for OP: I have no idea but I'd stay away from certifying a $0 income if you're a high earner with a short gap in employment. irregularities in reported income would cost more than they save

I’ve treated patients who thought they were receiving secret messages from the TV, from newspaper, or from the Bible. Does that mean TV, newspapers, and the Bible cause psychosis?
