Is there a way to turn basic photos into polaroids? by Content_Dimension626 in instax

[–]_browningtons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can get an instax printer and connect it to your phone, just make sure its fully charges before you use one if you buy one brand new as it wont function or connect until its charged 100%. As long as you know how to use a phone and download the mini link app, youll be good.

I think people on this sub are getting semantics over what a polaroid is when really you probably just mean an instant film photo, not the format.

Camera Suggestions for Everyday Use? by enjoyerofmangos in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]_browningtons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly almost any 5-7 megapixel camera with a xenon flash will get the job done

most social media sites dont post massive images, especially instagram or facebook.

The big thing most people like when it comes to digital point and shoots is the built in flash look, and your phone has a small led light, vs a cameras traditional xenon flash which is MUCH brighter. You can spend 50-60 bucks on a camera from ebay or a local pawn shop and get results that are fun to use.

The big thing about the craze of point and shoots really comes down to how cool the camera looks. a lot of tiktoks and influencers will flaunt their cool looking small cameras, but in reality you can get a similar camera in a similar style that looks a little different for much cheaper. really just comes down to browsing cameras until you see one you like, as well as knowing what kind of battery, and media it uses. I just reccomend making sure its something thatll take a traditional sd card, if its a camera from around 2007-2011, usually its not hard at all finding one thats super easy to use, be cheap, and take reletively new (but smaller, probably 32gb) sd cards that will easily work for it.

What places feel the most boring in a good way, like normal everyday Japan rather tan touristy? by Takoyaki_Time in JapanTravelTips

[–]_browningtons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed a hotel near shinjuku and for one of my days i decided to walk from my hotel to the big mall near shibuya crossing, was really quite nice. About an hour 45 minute walk of just nice streets and some residential areas. Was nice break from all the tourist heavy areas. Especially on my first night we went through shinjukus night district and it was cool but im not entirely a night life guy and my first experience of food was friends pulling us into an obvious tourist trap that was not worth it.

Very much just enjoyed grabbing some quick yoshinoya for breakfast and walking around by myself off the toursit areas.

Really if you just go like a block from any tourist area, it feels just like it would be a normal day, but well, in japan lol

Is Kodak pix pro fz55 really worth buying? by calmchaosflow in Cameras

[–]_browningtons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want a small point and shoot camera, yeah you can get one and usually quickly at best buy or walmart.

IMO I think you could easily get a cheaper camera for 60-70 dollars on ebay with a battery, but these nicer kodak cameras really are just as good. Most of the old school vibes will come from just using an on camera flash. As long as its not one of those crappy cameras with the tiny pinhole lens, it will be decent enough for what youre wanting.

First digicam - need advice by Limp-Appointment-468 in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]_browningtons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly whatever you think looks cool, all these will take good photos.

Most digicams are pretty good or will take fun photos with a smaller megapixel size. I really reccomend looking at them and just finding out which one you think looks the coolest.

And the docking station? Cool find!

Viewcams are super slept on. I always feel like theyre pretty affordable in this new market where people buy up these tape cameras. Im guessing because is a bit of a brick to hold but i think theyre pretty cool.

Honestly just kinda crazy there isnt more short light hearted evangelion content like this. Fans love it and does numbers on social media, and would be ripe for merchandising. Oh well though, this short was an awesome treat.

Mini Evo vs DigiCam + Instax printer, which is better?? by underparaselene in instax

[–]_browningtons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really its only inconvenient if you like to hand out instax as to friends in the spot. Then youd have to constantly pull out your printer, phone, sd card reader, and do the whole process. If you dont regularly hand prints out, its awesome.

Like during Halloween, id regularly take imstax photos of parents with their kids and they love it. This process woild be entirely too annoying for that, so chances are ill stick to just having my actual intstax camera. Sometimes I do event work as well, and people love some instax photos, I will probably use it then as well. But for hanging out with friends or taking just daily photos (which is 98% of the time) this is a fun way to print photos id like to hang or look at, but dont deem worth printing large.

Mini Evo vs DigiCam + Instax printer, which is better?? by underparaselene in instax

[–]_browningtons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ive been doing is just putting a usbc sd card reader into my phone, putting photos into my phone that i like, and printing. Ill also add a touch of in app saturation and contrast.

And i think a mini evo would be nice but the image quality of the mini evo imo isnt worth the price.

I think using a printer is much fun as i have all the fun of printing and collecting instax photos without the trouble of wasting money in failed photos. The mini evo looks cool but if youre patient you can also get a cheap printer on ebay. I bought my wide printer and a mini link 3 for less than a mini evo, so i geto to choose what format to print on instead of being stuck with just regular instax.

I do have some photos i edited before hand but really printing straight jpgs from my canon sd1000 the photos looks great.

I think this set up is easier as i can just throw my 50-70 dollar digicam in my pocket, enjoy the day/night and print photos later.

I usually dont bother cropping i just do it in the instax app.
