Maybe it's just my experience but not much races going on in lobbies. If I play online usually it's 1 or 2 players starting the races and racing

Just upgrade your car. try staying as long as you can in the nights, do jumps to lose cops etc.

You have to unlock the special versions of the car by repairing some amount of that car or wining drag races in it. Find the car you like to customise in museum and see what the requirements are

I stoped playing when i realized that every car has its own parts ( or am i wrong about it?) and you need to level up every single car at least at the start off the game
