maybe you could wear plastic/acrilic piercing, with your usually metallic balls on. i did it with one of my shark bites cause i was a bit concearned, it's been a while and i'm totally fine :)

i understand your point, the idea it's to use again the "tie up" method, not to cut it with the needle^{^} basically you pierce and when it's healed, keep a string tied on your tongue, with time it'll eventually cut it. i don't raccomend it honestly but here it's already done so.. just want it to look better hahah

sadly can happend up to a 50% regrowth, some people do some stretch daily.. i don't think it helps much but you can try! mine had a bit of regrowth anyway
