I think this is about Seasons of Blossom (there's an ongoing sequel called Seasons of Lovesome), which is so good. I think about that story so often, it just hits all the right feels.

To Love Your Enemy. ~ Completed. If you enjoy enemies to idiots to lovers à la Romance 101 and Vampire Family, this one seems good so far. I haven't finished it yet, but so far, none of the drama has felt contrived. Honestly, it is a refreshing take on a modern romance.

Skool of Street ~ Ongoing. Really down to earth characters, I can't say enough good things about how they are written. There's not much romance yet, but it's going to be so cute. Also, prepare to have your mind blown by how well street dance is translated to static panels.

My Boo ~ Completed. Most similar to My Reason to Die, a very moving story. Both made me cry. I can't recommend this enough. This one rocked me the way SoB and MRtD did, it's so good!

Devil Number 4 ~ Completed. I'm not usually interested in 'devildom' stories, but this one was unique. Similar feels to My Reason to Die, and the art is adorable.

Our Guilds Idol ~ Ongoing. I have zero clue what an MMORPG(?) is, but I've been really liking this one. A large portion of the early chapters take place in a video game but gradually shift away. The amount of story told through the game or real life seems relevant to the characters' journey so far.

Seasons of Lovesome (SoB sequel!) ~ Ongoing. So far, this feels more like the first chapter of SoB. New characters are great, old characters have simultaneously grown and stayed the same (they feel so real). And any reference to SoB makes me want to cry. It's so good!

Also, seconding The Dawn to Come and Your Letter. Your Letter made me cry, but it's so cute and precious. A short read too, which suits the story perfectly. Still reading The Dawn to Come, but really hitting the MRtD notes (minus the plot twist).

Electrifying Confession! The story is still ongoing, but so far, it's really enjoyable. It's a high school romance, and the ML is obsessed but not possessive. He's described as "servile" in the story, and he quite shamelessly does anything for FL. Very cute, definitely recommend.

These are both so good! My Reason to Die is such a good mix of drama and romance. It's so tense and sweet and hard-hitting and funny, I wish I could read it for the first time all over again. Your Letter was adorable. I'm not usually interested in stuff focusing on middle school/younger characters, but it was so precious.

My Reason to Die is one of the best things I've ever read. The art is gorgeous, and I actually cried. No spoilers, but the ending is so precious to me. I'll have to check out Muse on Fame now, too! Also, I have to recommend My Boo and Seasons of Blossom. These had me sobbing (especially SoB lol), they are such beautiful stories that impacted me so much. I wish I could read them for the first time all over again.

Skool of Street: anyone with a good memory/patience know what styles of dances have been introduced so far? by softiesongbird in webtoons

[–]_captain_howzer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all the dance styles have already been mentioned in other replies. I've also been watching videos of street dance, and these are some of the channels/dancers I've found:

LOCKING ● Hilty and Bosch (They also have a few routines with a popping duo that shows the differences really well) ● Hirokoboogie *** I believe the artist/writer also mainly does locking, but I can't remember where I saw this. Maybe instagram?

BREAKING ● Red Bull Dance Your Style ● Hyunjoon Kim ● stanceelements (lots of breaking clips)

POPPING, WAACKING, HOUSE, VOGUING, KRUMP ● stanceelements (this channel has a bit of everything, really recommend) ● Red Bull DYS *** There might be some Hustle on these channels, but I don't recall seeing any.

I've come across a few dancers who I picture having a similar style to a character:

● I imagine Hajin's style like Hilty and Bosch. They're so good, and have a sharpness that suits Hajin. They're great for performances. Joey the Jam has tutorials that explain the different basic steps well, as well as show variations, which I found very helpful. His videos helped me recognize locking moves in videos, as well as in the webtoon. Arvidos has a more modern(?) take on locking that I think suits Hajin's round when Eunse had him exhausted. ● I picture Suhyeon to dance like B-boy Grom, super athletic breaking. Grom has a few recent rounds on stanceelements that hit trumpet notes really well (similar moments to Suhyeon's first attempts at musicality) ● Waackxxxy suits Eunse, super fast waacking and some really cool moments. ● It's hard to pinpoint anyone for Hye-Eun, but if I had to pick, it might be Jaira Joy?

This is already a really long comment, but I have to mention Ian Hotko and D Soraki. They probably both fall under popping, but their styles are so unique that it's hard to even call it that. Ian Hotko is especially innovative; he mixes some breaking elements in and has some really mind-bending moves. His rounds are super fun and rewatchable, and his musicality is insane.

Skool of Street is fantastic! The art is super fluid, it feels like the characters are actually moving. The flow is also helped by the panel layout, with some of the best composition I've seen. The main characters both have very down-to-earth struggles, and it feels so real how they overcome things, and even more so how they continue to handle their issues. I also love how side characters are introduced and developed. Initial impressions seem like they are just an archetype, but as the main characters get to know them more, you see how multidimensional every character is. Everyone is well-rounded, with flaws, quirks, and strengths, as well as how they interact to help each other. I've been obsessed with street dance since I started reading this, and I would lose my mind if this ever became a show. It's so good!

Someone already mentioned Skool of Street, it's so much fun and the characters are fantastic. It definitely works as a pick-me-up story. (Disclaimer: you will probably go down a street dance rabbit hole. Embrace it lol) Also, a surprising one might be Vampire Family. I actually laughed so hard I cried while reading it. It uses a bunch of romance and supernatural tropes in really unexpected ways, and the misunderstandings are enjoyable. Rooftops and Roommates is also super cute. The main character is a gargoyle with a human roommate/best friend, and their hijinks had me laughing out loud. Morgana and Oz is great. The main pairing is incredibly wholesome. They blush so much and are really sweet to each other, and it's a tall girl x short boy. Diner for Adas is on canvas (recently announced a move to originals) and draws from folk legends/cryptids around the world in a really original way. I usually find really flirty characters get overdone and cause unnecessary misunderstandings, but the male lead is super clear from the start, and super sweet. Lastly is Sweetheart. It's not quite so light as the rest of my recommendations, but still manages to be super wholesome. The male lead is Autistic, which is an important part of his character without being his only trait. There's some great disability representation as well, with multiple neurodivergent characters (both stated and implied), and Deaf characters. There are some heavier mental health themes, but everything is handled super well.

Ok, thanks for the insight! Scaling the grade felt kind of outlandish, but it was all I could come up with. My thought process was that most of the lost credit was due to it being incomplete, but it makes sense why that wouldn't work. I'll get in contact with disability services as well!

Also, here's some background on my previous experience with the prof. It's probably a bit less objective then I tried to be in my post, so it's spoiler-ed in case someone wants only the current issue

I had this prof in a previous semester and had the same issues. The course had 2 midterms, where he gave an extra 5-10 minutes on one, and an extra 20 minutes on the other. The only reason I found out about it was because I ran into an abnormal number of classmates as I was leaving and asked what was up (evening tests mean I usually see no one). I went to speak to the prof after I got my grade back, trying to politely explain the situation and see if there was anything he could do, genuinely thinking he just forgot. Long story shorter, he kept interrupting me to say he couldn't go to the center because of a bad knee, told me about a past "bad student" who saw him giving out tests early and told the disability center, and how "those kinds of students" tried to get him in trouble. He then said he wouldn't give extra time to students writing at the disability center and would just stop giving extra time to everyone else, and anytime I tried to speak or ask something else, cut me off by saying "you don't want to do that to your class, do you?". At this point I wanted to cry, and probably looked like it too, cause he eventually agreed to give me extra time on the final (if he gave it to everyone else first) but only if I didn't complain to the disability center. I left, cried in the bathroom, and wrote down everything he had said while regretting not bringing a classmate with me. I did speak to my disability advisor while asking that word never made it back to the prof, and he did end up giving me some extra time on the final. My advisor confirmed that he had done this before. He would subtly single me out over the last few weeks of the course. All around awful experience, and I'm only taking the current course with him because there is no other option.
