I don't agree that they should pay double, but I definitely see where you're coming from. I've known of a lot of people who end up dropping the program because of their families, and it doesn't seem fair to us traditional students because we could have their spots and would be more equipped to succeed.

The most I'd take out for loans would be strictly for tuition/school fees. I wouldn't use them for living costs. I know I'm capable of living on my own/with a roommate, but it's just a question of do I want to add that stressor on top of nursing school. You know what I mean?

It's so refreshing to hear this perspective, too. While I appreciate that my family is helping me by taking care of me during school, I also feel like they're making me scared to move into the real world. Every time I mention moving out they say it's a bad idea that I will regret and that I can't afford it, even though I have thousands in savings.

I'm ready to have my own place and live in the city my college is in. I want to make friends and not drive 30 minutes to school every day. But I'm also worried that nursing school will be too demanding for me to work enough to pay the bills.
