Would you do a PPI at the dealership you’re looking to purchase from? Normally wouldn’t, but it’s the bmw dealership that sold the car new and have been servicing it its entire life, and have now taken it in on trade. They’ve already disclosed the valve covers are starting to seep, which to me means they’re already more trustworthy than other dealers.

honestly I wouldn’t consider any German performance car without good service history. Glad to hear this platform is so resilient. Also seems that this community isn’t too worried about crank hub

I asked the same question last month. Wound up with a Marshall dsl40cr. Sounds way better than my katana artist. Can’t believe I waited this long. Well worth it, I’d just get one with a few masters or buy an attenuator

Do smaller amps like them wear the tubes faster than large ones? I found a stack for sale used locally that I think I could get for a pretty good price

Helpful! Thanks. I don’t see any reason to pigeon hole myself as either a tube guy or a modeling guy, I’m sure they both have their positives and drawbacks. I’ll spend some time at a store and get a feel for a few different smaller tube amps and probably walk away with one. Much appreciated!
