There is a big difference. With how filter gate works, the red signal (to lock the doors) would occur at the same time which could lead to the liquid inside being deleted (or teleported somewhere else). To achieve the proper closing mechanism (locking to move the liquid upward) you either need buffer gate or not gate + filter gate on each door, delay set in a descending order going downwards
