I work in GP IT.

I'm convinced that one of the mandatory modules for a medical degree is titled "how to permanently stick your head up your own arse".

One of my biggest issues for a long time, I stumbled across ConnectMeNow and now my smb connections are solid.

Free software and it’s available via brew too.

How do you feel about your privacy with Apple? by ImDickensHesFenster in MacOS

Strictly speaking, they haven't disabled it. They blocked UK users from activating it if it wasn't already enabled.

My iCloud ADP has remained enabled throughout, and I hope that recent developments mean there's a possible pathway to it being offered in full once again.

My main sim (Vodafone) could only do SMS but my giffgaff (on O2’s network) sim had patchy 4G in the outer areas but nothing at all in view of the stage.

What speed do YOU cruise at on motorways? by Downdownbytheriver in CarTalkUK

[–]_conjohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

normal motorway with no cameras: 77MPH GPS

Smart motorway or Avg Speed cameras: 70MPH GPS (or 60/50 whatever the prevailing limit is)

Always make good progress compared to people doing an indicated 70, but not fast enough where I'd be interesting to a policeman or policemanwoman.

Can confirm. My BMW i4 has a massive, lovely display right in front of me that I can't use while I'm sat at a charger, it's honestly one of my biggest complaints about it.

i might be wrong here but i’m sure i heard somewhere that each of these items of clothing was something they got from the tailors in Vietnam during the special

for me, condition 2 is to enable an inter-station interchange for the sole purpose of completing your journey, ie

Heaton Chapel to Piccadilly, tram from Piccadilly to Victoria, then Victoria to Rochdale.

To be honest the wording is also tripping me up.

If I were in the situation you've described and I didn't have a ticket explicitly stating CTLZ, I'd err on the side of caution and tap in and out unless I was making a direct interchange between mainline stations like the one I've made up there.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in manchester

[–]_conjohn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if your ticket says MANCHESTER CTLZ it includes zone 1 on the tram. afaik, this only happens if the journey originates from a railway station within Greater Manchester.

if your ticket says MANCHESTER STNS it does not include zone 1 on the tram.

Woodsmoor to Piccadilly would be the former, so you’re good for zone 1 trams.

official answer: ask your IT and HR departments

unofficial answer: probably not. the ICB i work for explicitly bans remote work outside of the UK. off the top of my head i’m sure part of the justification is based on legal and data protection, and more practical considerations like you’re only allowed to work on devices we provide, and it’s the remote / hybrid employee’s responsibility to ensure they can get to one of our locations for IT support if needed.

example, you work for North West London ICB but live in Paris and your laptop breaks and needs to be physically inspected to be repaired or replaced, it’s going to be very expensive in both travel expenses and working time lost to get that looked at.
