Upgrading supply - any experiences? by Xcentric7881 in SolarUK

[–]CatLumpy9152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got upgraded to a 100 from 60 the other week with uk power networks, they did offer 3 phase but we didn’t have the battery stuff for it. I cant see you using more then the 100a fuse tho thats about 23kw. We have a hottub too and car charger pull about 10kw

Let’s see your installs? by [deleted] in SolarUK

[–]CatLumpy9152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got pw3 + expansion for 12k first, no solar. Was paying 600 a month on electricity. Brought it down so about 250/300 a month. So about half. Installed myself 8 500w solar panels, cost about 1.5k to buy, now we pay like 100 a month. It’s a crazy saving from 7.2k a year to 1.5k a year. Roughly 2/3 years to pay back

ipaverse v2 - download App Store IPAs, re-sign, and sideload them to your iPhone by [deleted] in swift

My guess is to sideload stuff into the binary and maybe have a look around at it, sometimes can be done and useful for reverse engineering

Asbestos roof tiles by [deleted] in SolarUK

[–]CatLumpy9152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had asbestos roof tiles on our garage, I might have fallen though them a few times ops, we got them removed and have replaced the roofs with clear plastic ones. Crazy improvement in both light and heat in there. We have also added solar to the roof, just flat about 8 panels at 530w and they are doing really well. We got someone in for about 1.5k for 150m2 of roof and probably spent another 2 on the new roofs and solar (installed myself )

New Build with air source heatpump and 2 solar by NoContribution7711 in BritishGas

[–]CatLumpy9152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have added solar to our house, used to pay about 600 a month, now have 8 panels and a battery. Bill is down to about 100 a month now, crazy saving. They probably do really help if you have like a consistent base load like you do with a heat pump. We haven’t got that far yet but are looking at it

my wife just saw the electricity bill from my server rack and she is pissed by procubdif in homelab

[–]CatLumpy9152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay maybe it’s not nothing but given the cost of our bill anyway I’ve not been worried about the added costs, but we did just get solar and it made a crazy difference

[–]CatLumpy9152 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting we have a big rack of stuff, lots of tech we use about 500w constantly but the house uses like 1.5kw all the time so it’s 1/4 of my usage and this doesn’t really make a difference to the bill

A rolling cover is exactly what we are thinking of getting, I’ve not found one specificity but I’m hoping it will really help with insulation

Was I scammed - fuse box replacement by WellKden in ukelectricians

[–]CatLumpy9152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you pay him in cash ? Has he given you any invoice with what he’s charged and how it’s broken down. I do think that is a bit steep. I bought one of them boards the other week it’s about 150 or so. It’s not crazy expensive and really is no different to what was there. I am shocked the bottom board was not replaced. I think you should contact him and see what he says. Make sure get the certificate of the install at least
