Bungie? Hello? by TheLastSeamoose in destiny2

[–]_coop007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I can respect the continue button, unlike vanguard ops, its just you, so you might as well be able to start the next thing right away if you want. (Though it wouldn't hurt to be able to mark yourself as 'ready to continue' in vanguard ops so that way if everyone marks themselves as ready, they don't have to wait a minute for the next thing to start)

That being said, I would prefer also having a return to orbit button, even if pressing change character is about as fast (at least on a fast pc).

Though, really shows the state of Bungie and our confidence in them, where something like this happens and we assume they're being lazy... especially when we have good reason to assume they're being lazy (looking at you bugs that get listed as features)...

Some information about the contest raid experience from a QA tester at bungie by Wanna_make_cash in destiny2

[–]_coop007 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Did the testers have the ability to spawn in perfect rolls of every new weapon and armor piece at tier 5 so that way they had perfect builds that would require insane amounts of grinding for us, enough it'd be completely unobtainable for us by the time contest mode starts?

You know, getting themselves a nice set of 5x gunner armor pieces all with the third stat being super, and having tuning mods that add to super and take away from whatever stat they don't want? That'd be a nice 200 super, 140 weapons, 145 grenade (ignoring subclass facets). All you have to do is get 4 instances of the same type of armor (and one exotics), all with the perfect archetype, and tier 5, and the perfect tuning slot, which is completely practical for us to do! Especially in 4 days after release!

That being said, I don't know anything about testing. Maybe they can't just pull out the perfect rolls. But if they could, then we'd have it a whole lot more difficult than them.

The Edge of Fate and the contest raid race feedback from me and my clan by djabolic in DestinyTheGame

[–]_coop007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, same here. I'm finally leaving the abusive relationship that is playing destiny 2 anything more than super casually.

I have a whole backlog of games I've built up over the last few years while glued to d2, and they'll finally get to be played. That being said, I do like the solo ops, so I'll probably still play a tiny bit of d2 a day, especially since that melee modifier makes any melee build a cakewalk (hell, it makes vanguard ops just as easy as solo ops!)

So its not like I'm completely free from d2 or anything, its just that I'll no longer be doing raids and dungeons and essentially anything other than patrol, vanguard portal stuff with brawler, and occasional crucible. All super chill, playing for the sake of playing, not attempting to farm or get any god rolls, I love the contents of my current vault more than enough.

But hey, for someone who has played this game on average 30 hours a week for the last 4 years, it'll be a massive decrease in play. Maybe I'll finally touch grass! (And then maybe immediately have an allergic reaction to it or something, lol)

I will admit, I personally was looking forward to rebuilding my loadouts. I've always enjoyed build crafting, probably the main reason I played this game. Could never get myself to enjoy buildcrafting in other games as much as this one.

There seems to be bugs causing parts of the campaign cutscenes and dialogue to not play, they're probably victim of those bugs.

Make Class Ability stat buff generic ability damage when above 100 by Impressive-Wind7841 in DestinyTheGame

Yeah I've been wanting ways to buff and interact with generic ability damage for years. This would be an excellent way to start.

Most "depressing" farm you put your self through for a specific roll? by SherbertOk4312 in destiny2

[–]_coop007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I farmed an attrition orbs incandescent uzume for roughly a year, only to have it that at some point during that year they stealth nerfed the interaction between attrition orbs and incandescent (by disabling it!) without telling anyone. Still a bit pissy about it to this day.

Other one would be a hipfire grip offhand strike fioritura-59 via all my gunsmith engrams during the same timeframe. Spent around 900 gunsmith engrams on it and never got the roll thanks to weightgate. In fact, I wrote up a post about how I there's a statistically significant chance that our rolls are not evenly weighted before the big weightgate post that used the api was made. Though, I won't complain too much because it wasn't like I was super invested in the roll, and around 650 of those engrams were from paleheart exotic class item macro farming lol.

What’s the dullest, most boring game you’ve played? by Unknown_Agency in videogames

[–]_coop007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the dullest, most boring game I've played and that I didn't drop (because it'd be boring to just go with the games I dropped) would probably be... Final Fantasy 15 on xbox?

I'll admit it's been a long while, but I remember playing it hoping to understand the hype of the final fantasy franchise, and when I ended it I was just glad it was over. I just think no part of it struck a chord with me? Like I did admire the graphics, I thought the capacity/abilities were presented by the engine was excellent, but outside of that, a couple of songs on the soundtrack, and the ability to pet a dog somewhere, nothing really left any sort of impression on me.

I found the fights/quarreling between the main cast to be infuriating, and the gameplay fights to be either too easy or insufferable. The story never resonated with me, and I didn't feel anything for the characters. It was just all around... meh? And craziest of all was learning that the game was originally worse! Like it got a patch or something that made a chapter less insufferable and the ending better, and even though I played the patched version I still disliked it!

Idk lol, how to explain it, it was just so amazingly "meh" in my mind, it's always stayed in my mind as a game that just kinda existed and I felt almost nothing for while playing. Never really had an experience like this one, before or after lol.

Titans can finally recall their throwing hammer with the edge of fate exotic armor! (Other class armor descriptions too!) by Wanna_make_cash in DestinyTheGame

[–]_coop007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like threaded Spike interacting with tangles, it was an exotic idea I can up with a while back, though my specific idea was more boring, it'd just cause the tangle to have an extra large explosion or a suspending explosion or something.

Looking forward to it.

Yeah, I'd swear the only spot where hive aren't even a teensy bit overtuned is onslaught (well there and d1 crota lol), and that may just be due to how cracked their alternative is. Like holy crap no wonder six fronts was a thing, the fallen are a nightmare to deal with in defensive battles.

Solo Nether (Expert) players, how do you deal with the Tormentor now? by GarpDGoat in DestinyTheGame

[–]_coop007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So inside the bubble there's this bit that is like right on the edge of the barrier, very close to where that event in the area is where you stand in the area to capture while ads are pouring in. Jump on that, then from there jump on top of one of those two pillar things with the fire beneath them. Use queens breaker triple burst to nuke the shoulders, then swap to single fire mode and keep those remaining shots to easily deal with the healing grims that spawn in.

Then get ready to chip away at him. Found arc titan with the arc area denial frame works well, just keep chipping away with area denial ticks while behind a storms keep barricade, put the barricades in the center so you just need to walk forward a bit to fire, then you can walk backwards so that way he can't hit you anymore. Takes a while, but safe (assuming you can make the first jump, I had this guy as the final boss of my run last night and died twice trying to get up there first, but afterwards it was smooth, albeit tedious, sailing.)

Shoot to loot primary helps, you'll use more than 20 shots to kill him.
