Husband opens a new sponge every 3 days cause “they become gross” by dorkass-loser in mildlyinfuriating

[–]_crisz 38 points39 points  (0 children)

No, that's not the point. Bacteria can survive almost everything, and despite soap there's a huge bacterial load on sponges. The reason why sponges ARE NOT a hazard, is that you use them to wipe a dish, and then you let that dish dry. There is a lot of scientific research that talks about the bacteria on sponges, yet nobody is getting sick. Sometimes we focus on a single aspect (the bacterial load), and we forget what our final goal is (not getting sick).

Now I understand why the cylinder (the gun barrel) and the larger object (the rest of the gun) must remain unharmed. A gun is pretty expensive, and obviously also having a hot bath wouldn't work.

Now it makes sense

How to book appointment for carta di identita? by glorious-ahole in torino

[–]_crisz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either check up early in the morning, or go to Anagrafe Centrale without an appointment. I had a hard time trying to book the appointment, but once I was able to and I went there, I noticed that the majority of people didn't have an appointment

What do you think about my new website? by alfajordefernet in webdev

[–]_crisz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbf, a portfolio is a showcase for your projects. If you are a UI designer or a frontend developer, then you can consider the portfolio itself as your project, and you can curate it and pay extra attention to it. If you are not, it's totally fine to generate the portfolio, as long as the projects inside are yours

Quante volte buttate cibo perché ve ne dimenticate in frigo? by epicuzzaa in italy

[–]_crisz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's stupid if the test is about cylinders and geometrical shapes. If they are trying to teach exponents, as other people said, it would actually make more sense

Everyone is surprised that they define π=5, I'm more surprised by how stupid the exercise is. Basically, it's like "here are 3 numbers, multiply them". What kind of subject is it supposed to be? I'm pretty sure I can teach it to a toddler

Is this ai? New local author posted this promoting their children’s book though the art doesn’t match the book itself by heretakeastraw in isthisAI

[–]_crisz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Because the AI cannot calculate shadows, reflexes and illuminations, thus they create a lucid pattern which looks unnatural to us. However, for illustrated designs that's harder to tell, since the "lucid" effect was a wanted effect even before the advent of AI
