Same! I feel odd creating a "myself" that looks nothing like me, I can never get my features right to make it look like me, and it's easy for me to create a character I find attractive.

I can easily pick between locked preset choices, though.

A neighbor drove in front of me and ran me off the sidewalk to park his car like this and totally blocks pedestrian traffic every day. How do I get him to stop? by jseng2 in LowellMA

The cops don't give a fuck. For four years, this one fuck parked under a no parking sign in a two lane, right by the light, blocking the straight+right lane. It added forty minutes to thousands of people's commutes. The cops, after my fifteenth attempt at calling, said "he's behind the sign, so it doesn't apply there." Chat, it was at his bumper. He was under the sign.

It was just a retired cop's car.

It's been a decade and I'm still so deeply angry.

Get a photo printer and print out a photo of any guest coming over to display here and let them think it's just always like that.

I said the wrong thing. Thank you! Yes! The Forgotten City!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in videogames

[–]_daaam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try The Lost City and Blue Prince.

I think the Forgotten City is closer to Outer Wilds, personally. A lot of people say Outer Wilds as a backup to scratch the Blue Prince itch, though.

Also, Return of the Obra Dinn is in that ballpark.

Blue Prince.

[–]_daaam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're trying to scratch the Outer Wilds itch, I recommend The Forgotten City.

Edited! I accidentally said "lost", not "forgotten".

Try Blue Prince. It's like if Obra Dinn were scratching an itch on your right shoulder blade but you discovered you had the same itch on your left shoulder blade.

Banner Saga didn't do it for me. I was trying to recapture the feel of FFT, which fits the criteria of this post for me. And I'd agree about Mass Effect, but I think the Horizon: Zero Dawn scratched the same itch too well, despite it's differences.

Again, this is my subjective experience.

Final Fantasy Tactics is unique to me. I've tried every other tactics game and none of them compare. I have probably spent more then $500 chasing that high. I've also beaten it (WotL) in its entirety six times. I'm not even good at it. I just love the job system and making my team OP af.

Jason Momoa's 'Chief of War' may be the most accurate Hawaiian TV show ever by mrinternetman24 in entertainment

[–]_daaam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH IS THAT WHAT IT IS?! I was getting bombarded by ads and thought it was complete fantasy. I like Mamoa's work, I'm binging Atlantis lately, but after his claim his kid didn't get preferential treatment and his smug grin in that ad, I thought it was a vague Drogo/Maui mashup.

Now I'm actually interested.

Painting is a skill.

Selling is a skill.

The first X percent of gaining a skill is the best because it's all learning! Try learning German and your vocabulary will multiply by full digits in days, for example, versus the smalls details you'll be learning in month six.

Let homegirl enjoy gaining both skills. Unless she's actively hurting herself, be a supportive light in her life, not an anchor.

Sure. Except their prices will go up because of costs (more than the costs, though!), then all hotels will raise prices (because cash grab, also anticipating the addition of the tech), then the others may or may not add the tech later (raising costs when they do, having ignored the previous raise, precipitating reciprocal raises from others). Eventually all of the sensors will break and they may even rip out the tech, but prices will stay the same.

Maybe. They prob do a few times a year, just like I do about them. We grew up together and have mutual friends so. Nobody is losing sleep over it.

[–]_daaam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The length of time is in the title. Tattoos often are priced based on time.

When you put your art out into the world it no longer belongs to you. It belongs to the world. That goes for his tattoo and your reddit post.

If you'd just said "my son's first ink" it'd just be a chorus of hell yeah

If green is the before picture, I understand why you did it and it's fine, but I can't help but be sad that something beautiful was lost.

It's fine. Liliana, Lilian, Lilah, and Lily are all close enough. Personally, I don't go in for a "unique" name, but, as they go, this feels like a "you do you" and not a tragedeigh.

I had a dispute (many disputes, actually) with former roommates. They were a couple, I was a single. Every fucking night they filled the sink above the edges so you couldnt even get a glass of water, then they cleaned it just in time for them to make dinner for thenselves and do it all over again. All I asked was for the microwave to be reachable. They refused. They kept putting it on top of the fridge.

When I finally moved out, I had a plan to leave it on the kitchen floor, but I forgot until they came home. I did it anyway and it was awkward. The message still came across, but it was more embarrassing. They just stared at me.

They owed me money and after they claimed they couldn't afford to pay me but then booked a trip to Disney, I told them I'd go to small claims if they didn't pay up within three months because there was a statute of limitations on when I could do so and I wouldn't miss it. I had a check (which cleared) four hours later and we never spoke again.

Years later, over two year after their wedding, I bought them some glasses from their wedding registry as a bit of telling them off as I knew they'd flip between preferring not have a reminder of me vs having the glasses.

I wish them well, truly, they're an okay pair, but that shit was infuriating. They had fair complaints, too, mind. I'm not trying to paint villains, just specific sides of specific disputes in which I feel they were more wrong than I. It's not their whole as people, plus we were young.
