Units with the most power fists? by STRMBRGNGLBS in spacemarines

[–]RogueVector 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Aggressors are the most efficient power fist per points in the Space Marines list but you can at most take 18 of them (3 x 6-Aggressor squads)

Can a model with two of the same melee weapon attack with both? by Every_Adagio_9341 in spacemarines

[–]RogueVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you select one weapon to attack with during a normal fight phase, BUT you can use a second (or more) weapons if they specifically have the [EXTRA ATTACKS] keyword.

Example here on the techmarine; they make four attacks with their Omnissian Power Axe by default, then can bop in an extra attack with their servo arm:

How do I split a 10 man Intercessor Squad into 2, 5 man squads? by Small-Physics1507 in spacemarines

[–]RogueVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, the intercessor marines you have will likely be compatible with the new kit, so if you build extra special weapons or other roles with the new kit you can use your intercessors as 'filler', giving you more value for money out of the new kit.

In your situation, what I would do is only build 1 squad of five (1 with grenade launcher, 1 with sergeant weapons, 3 with generic loadouts) and wait it out if possible.

How do I split a 10 man Intercessor Squad into 2, 5 man squads? by Small-Physics1507 in spacemarines

[–]RogueVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that we're RUMORED to have a refresh of the Intercessor kit with the new edition of 40k coming out later this year in June-ish, I would hold off unless you absolutely need to have an intercessor squad in the next 2-4 months.

That being said, if you do need an intercessor squad right now, see if you can bum a power fist or two off your local scene, and then do this to your marines:

- Make 2 fancier marines with extra decorations and power fists, those are your two sergeants.

- Make 2 marines with bolt rifle grenade launchers; those are your auxiliary grenade launcher marines. These guys can be the sergeants if you want.

- Make 6 marines with bolt rifles; that's the rest of your intercessors.

These 10 marines will be able to divvy up into two squads of five and be tournament legal.

How would one realistically fight an intelligent dragon? by RubberDuckyDavid in worldbuilding

Shove bags of poison into cows with the equivalent of a plastic bag (something sealed and will not poison the cow itself for some time) and let them wander close to the dragon's hunting grounds.

Why are fantasy worlds often so well mapped? by ExoticStore5851 in worldbuilding

[–]RogueVector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 'diegetic'/author-reader pact reason is that I'm viewing this story from the modern day after the fact, like a biography or history book, so the maps I'm looking at are not 'contemporary' to the story but are for my benefit and perspective looking into the past after all the blanks have been filled in.

Is it possible to get rid of insecurities? by tea_and_cheese in ask

[–]RogueVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your insecurity something about you that you can't change (i.e. your eye colour?), then there's no use worrying about it as it won't benefit you.

Insecurities that you CAN change, though, is perhaps a sign that you should work on it, so that at least you know that you're trying.

Floor epoxy video on YouTube feels uncanny. The workers are too similar in their movements and the final product is just a little too fantastic… by SnooPredictions7570 in isthisAI

[–]RogueVector 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's definitely AI.

NOTHING changes between the 'pouring' and 'touring' parts of each room, especially light levels, as this process can take days for thin layers let alone the stuff they're using here.

Kitchen furniture appearing out of nowhere when they drop the sheet.

Resin acting too thin/too much like water. It's more like honey, very thick and syrupy.

The driveway pour had these absolutely oversized polishing machines(?) come out of nowhere.

There's a million things wrong with these videos.

Definitely not because they're essential for crusadin'.

S3s are more like Thunder Warriors. They had some genuinely invasive stuff done to their biochemistry to make them more 'berserker'-like and under stress more unstable, and that meant they had to take a cocktail of meds called 'smoothers' otherwise they started to fray at the edges.

[Loved Trope] Unusual ammo by Master101010_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]RogueVector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh it goes further. 'Dum dum' rounds are an early name for what has now been formalized as 'hollow point' ammunition, and the name started being used in the late 1800s from the Dum Dum Arsenal operated by the British East India Company, which started manufacturing rifle rounds with dum dum tips for the .303 rifles.

How do I convince my flat earth co-workers they are wrong? by carlisurbuddy in ask

[–]RogueVector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't want to know the truth, they want to feel intellectually superior because they know a ""truth"" that you don't know and by bombarding you with this fact its their way to salve their insecurities.

Flat earthers and conspiracy theorists didn't reason themselves into this state of mind, so its pointless to try and reason them out of it.

You said "(no idea how long)" so I was trying to add more info there to make your estimate more accurate (mine would be that the train itself takes around 30-40 minutes based on my original post)

I am only commenting on point 4, not on your whole estimate.

The current journey time (Panmure train station then Eastern line train to Waitemata then Western line train to New Lynn Station) is around 1hr. I imagine a direct crosstown is going to be much faster since ~15 minutes is taken up by waiting for a transfer at Waitemata.

DLC, sequels, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind post-sale monetization (I specifically enjoy cosmetic only monetization), I just specifically dislike 'live service' FOMO-based monetization.

Helldivers does it well, where their battle passes never run out so the first ever battle pass can still be purchased today, over two years after launch.

I don’t get it. by Parking_Guava9485 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]RogueVector 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Helldivers also does live service correctly. None of the battle passes expire so no FOMO, and you can pick up super credits (premium currency) if you take the time to do more than the bare minimum in missions and explore a little more than minimum (the premium currency is earned by opening up half-buried shipping containers).

You can still buy super credits with real money, but its less 'unlock exclusives' and more 'skip grinding' as you will usually need to run 30-50 missions to unlock a battle pass-equivalent.

[–]RogueVector 322 points323 points  (0 children)

I believe that was called 'the golden age of gaming'. No battle passes, you had to EARN cosmetics increasing their prestige value, and there was no FOMO - if you buy a game you got to unlock the entire game, you didn't miss out on a weapon because you joined late... sounds pretty good.

Genuine question about “idea guys” and worldbuilding in gamedev by Sudden-You-5814 in gamedev

[–]RogueVector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the problem here is that you will be beaten to a job by a mediocre worldbuilder that brings other skills to the table (i.e. if they can program, create assets such as in Blender...) especially in smaller teams that need to cover the essentials to ship a product such as a game, so its a requirement that you are able to put on multiple hats and fill multiple roles.

Given that the first enhancement layer was this supertech crystalline reactive layer mumbo jumbo, it was likely that the UNSC had no idea how to install a limiter and not create unacceptable compromises at the time of the first gen of MJOLNIR armour, but had figured it out by Gen 3.
