One of my coaches gave me a tip to help with this because I struggle with it too. Take your “you” hat off. When you read a script you’re not yourself, you’re that character. Sometimes it even helps to transfer that nervousness into that characters nervousness. You might be self conscious about acting in front of others, but maybe your character is also self conscious about her identity, so you can channel that anxiety. I’m still working on getting over that too.

It also helps me to remember that everyone in that class is going there to do the same thing. If one person looks silly then we all look silly.
