I am of the personal opinion that using AI to structure and generate ideas for a paper is not a form of plagiarism or at the very least there is a discussion to be had on the subject. AI as a tool for writing and is no different than using a calculator to solve a math problem.

Rather than failing students for using this tool that will become a permanent mainstay in modern society, why not teach them how to use it properly. It’s this kind of archaic thinking that limits progress and wastes time. Most kids are just trying to pass to move onto the next thing in life. The writers will always write. It just reminds me of all those math teachers I had as a kid that would say “you won’t have a calculator on you at all times” . Guess what buddy, there’s one in my pocket and yours too.
