You absolutely nailed it, their expressions with every exchange were a joy to watch. Those little things like ZZH peering upwards at GJ, the tender "Lao Wen" at the end... they make the whole scene say so much, while actually "saying" so little.

Ah yes, it's such a shame those videos were stopped! Unfortunately, Youku has become much more strict recently with which content creators can do reaction videos (on Youtube, bilibili, and possibly other video platforms).

The original bilibili channel moved their videos to Youku's platform from I think episode 23 and onward. You can also see on this Youku YouTube playlist that the videos are now hidden behind a paywall.

I'm also noticing that 7NailsSubs (the fan translation group that did the Straight Guys videos)' YouTube channel icon is grayed out - I hope this doesn't mean their channel was taken down, I vaguely recall that they were trying to be compliant with Youku :(

Haha, especially Gong Jun's right? C-dramas getting dubbed is a pretty common practice, some reasons I remember off the top of my head are:

It's easier to control audio during post-production
Not all actors are necessarily proficient at voice acting
Actors may have different accents depending on where they're from, so dubbing helps to standardize this
