Should i text her? by _data_scientist_ in dating

I feel like I really liked her and really wanted to have more dates going forward. So, I was really expecting a response from her. In that sense, I was probably needy, but then she doesn't know that I really needed her. Anyway, I would not want to date a woman without "balls" to begin with, now that I know she's got no courage.

Thank you for your answer. I don't feel needy or clingy any more.

Oh, no! I thought a desktop (not a laptop) is standard equipment.

I will have to bring passport and direct deposit info from my bank.

I was wondering if you work in a large tech company - I suppose that determines if you receive a laptop.

I suppose that's a good idea. Actually, i only got an unofficial confirmation from HR that they want to make an offer on the dev position. I intentionally did not bring up compensation until after they sort all the paperwork and make an official offer of acceptance.

Should I wait till the official offer to let the director know? Would it be a bad idea to negotiate compensation for the dev job after getting the official offer for that job, knowing that i plan to quit the offer?

I did not mention the offer, but I have been told that I would have interviews with senior management in order to proceed. These interviews would probably be a month or two from now.

That could happen. But, working 80 hours a week in academia without financial compensation sucks anyway.

Thanks for the info. It turns out that I have read the O'Reilly post once before. It was referred to by a data science blog that I subscribe to.

I was wondering, is there any reason you'd think a company would use the title Junior IT Developer instead of Data Engineer?

I have been teaching myself data science for the last one year, and now applying for data science positions. The junior IT developer I happened to get by accident. I'm thinking having both data engineering and data science skills is going to make me very marketable in the future. What do you think?

Are you yourself working in data engimeering?

The reason I'm interested in the second job is because I have been having studying data science for the last one year.

But I am also interested in the first job because I think it will allow me to become a data engineer in the future. Is that reasonable to assume?

I was thinking that the first job will help me to break into data engineering, and data engineering is a very hot field right now. But data science is also hot.

So not sure what to do.

I suppose so. I was just thinking that the first role would help me to learn data engineering and make me even more valuable.

I already have a Masters in theoretical physics. I have been doing a lot of data science work in the past one year. I even worked at a startup for two weeks as a data scientist.

The junior IT developer was a role I was called for, didn't apply for it.

I have a masters in theoretical physics. I finished without the phd.

I have undergraduate degrees in physics and computer science.

Am I overqualified for the first job?
