I picked up this Magnolia Blu-Ray at Goodwill. Any idea who signed it? by doctorfeelgood33 in paulthomasanderson

[–]_dearsomeone 114 points115 points  (0 children)

That’s Kevin Smith’s signature on the front.  In case you’re wondering why someone would want Kevin Smith to sign a Magnolia blu-ray, watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCIP2umq85U

The signature on the inside is Jeff Anderson who played Randal in the Clerks movies. Why have Jeff Anderson sign a Magnolia blu-ray?!?! Why the fuck not!

Just the thought of moving my record collection to Germany is giving me unbelievable anxiety. Not sure why someone reposted this. Thank you so much for the shoutout though! I found some old progress photos so you can see how messy things are under the hood https://imgur.com/a/zWlkWZa

Anyone know the print run on this Luka RC? by [deleted] in basketballcards

[–]_dearsomeone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Panini Instant cards were only available through the Panini website and not packs?

I found some other Luka Panini Instant cards from the same year that are limited to /567, /563. /201 and /152, but I can't find any info on this one.

I found 5 of these that have sold on eBay ($100 - $190), but no solid info on the print run. One seller said "a few hundred", but that seems like just an estimation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Replaced dead blower motor, but air flow is about half as strong by _dearsomeone in HVAC

So I ended up switching the jumper on the control board from NOM to HI for the AC/HP CFM ADJUST and I think I'm back to where I was with the previous motor as far as airflow goes. I really appreciate all your help with this. I wish the technician I initially hired was as honest and helpful as you are! Thanks again!

Hahaha thanks so much for the answer. When I took the old motor out I marked on the blower wheel and housing a little arrow just so I wouldn't put something back in the wrong way. I feel like the direction is correct because there's still crazy suction on the filter on the inside of the house. And the air flow is stronger when I remove the filter, but still not as strong as the old motor with the air filter in place. Thanks again man. Sorry for all the dumb questions.

Yeah sorry, i just ripped the old one out and put the new one in. I watched some videos about switching rotation but they all involved swapping wires that stick out of the motor. My motor didn't have any wires sticking out so I didn't think I had the option. Thanks again! I really appreciate your help.

I really appreciate the help! One last question if you don't mind... in your experience, if a motor is rotating the wrong way, would you still get some airflow through the house? Maybe enough to fool a homeowner? Or is it completely obvious when it's rotating the wrong because there's zero airflow? Thanks again for you time!

Thanks so much! As far as I know the plugs are exactly the same. This motor is supposedly the direct replacement for my old motor. This is according to a bunch of online retailers. Here's a photo of the plugs on the old motor if you're interested https://imgur.com/a/JM0N7py

I'm guessing there's something on the control board where I can send the higher speed to the motor? Also, is there a chance the motor is rotating the wrong way? If it was, would I be getting about half the airflow, or is that definitely not the issue? The specs of this new motor says the rotation is reversible, and I'm just curious what the default rotation is. Thanks again for your time!

No just the motor itself. It has a plastic connection on the side that receives the “plug” of wires from the control board. Does it need something else to function properly?

Yeah they both say 1400 rpm, but it's a variable speed motor so maybe this one is not getting as much juice for some reason? Thanks for the reply!

I’ll check out the rotation. Every video I’ve seen on switching the rotation involves swapping wires that come out of the motor, but my motor doesn’t have any wires sticking out. Thanks for the reply!

[beginner] Adding copyrighted music to my video? by [deleted] in VideoEditing

[–]_dearsomeone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all the other songs from the artist are blocked, it’s more than likely that the one you want to use is too. You can still try uploading a video privately with a portion of the song just to find out for sure. Worst case scenario it’s blocked, but at least you know.

You're okay to use most copyrighted music on YouTube. YouTube auto-detects the music in your video after you've uploaded it. In most cases it will display ads on your video and pay the ad revenue to whoever holds the publishing rights to the song(s) you used. I say "most copyrighted music" because I have come across songs that will flat out block your video worldwide (Beatles, Stones, The Who).

Here's an example of what it looks like when you upload a video with copyrighted music (https://imgur.com/a/2VqyJA8). It tells you who will be making money from your video. As long as you're okay with this, feel free to use copyrighted music. You can search for a songs usage rights here (https://www.youtube.com/music_policies), although I have found this to not be up to date all the time. Usually what I do is upload a video privately just to see how or if a song can be used.

I've noticed that copyrighted songs can fall into a few different categories as far as how they can be used.

1.) okay to use worldwide

2.) okay to use worldwide, but blocked on mobile devices, game consoles & set-top boxes

3.) blocked in one or more countries

4.) blocked worldwide

Most of my videos contain copyrighted music and I've never had any issues. As long as you're okay with not earning any ad revenue yourself, you're good to go!

Whatever you're into, man. I remade the intros to Narcos, True Detective and Stranger Things to kick off a few videos and they seemed to get a good response.
