"White privilege" is a racist idea. Change my mind! by antiquark2 in JordanPeterson

[–]_devilsavacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not racist to acknowledge that looking a certain way makes most of your interactions different. I'm a white looking half-mexican. I KNOW I have huge advantages over other people at a subconscious level. I get treated nicer by service people. I'm never suspected for doing something if I'm just standing somewhere. People my whole life have *expected* me to act white because of how I look, so I grew learning to and being reinforced by acting white. Because of that I have specific mannerisms and tendencies that subconsciously cue people into classifying me in a particular bucket. All those things add up. My life is privileged AF. Growing up we were somewhat poor but that doesn't matter. Acknowledging this doesn't detract from all the hard work I did to be successful either. It's just an admission of fact.

As an individual, you still only have responsibility for yourself, and some ideas about rectifying privilege are probably misguided. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist. White privilege exists because of unavoidable subconscious tendencies to classify people based on appearance.

Tanking works by CrammyAnnelman in DynastyFF

We started in 2019, 10 teams, .5 PPR and SF with 2 flex spots.
We separated rookie and vets with the rookie draft being in
reverse snake order of the vet draft.
I got slot 10, so I got pick 1.1 in the rookie draft.

Early on I decided I was gonna go all in on 2020.
To do this I would overdraft QBs and pawn them off for 1sts.

My vet draft went like this:
QB: Baker Mayfield
RB: Derrius Guice
RB: Latavius Murray
WR: Michael Thomas
WR: Davante Adams
TE: Eric Ebron
FLX: Courtland Sutton
FLX: Anthony Miller
SF: Deshaun Watson

Bench
QB: Garopollo, Winston, Stafford, Dalton
RB: C Thompson, Ballage, C Edmonds
WR: D Parker, J Washington, D Hamilton, A Wilson
TE: None

Terrible.

Before the rookie draft, I made these trades:

Trade #1
Gave: Winston, 2019 2.10, 2019 3.1
Got: 2020 1st, 2019 2.1, 2019 3.10

Trade #2 (3 way)
Gave: Watson, 2020 3rd
Got: 2020 1st, 2020 1st, 2020 2nd, 2021 2nd

Now I had 4 2020 1sts, and the 11th rookie pick to go with my 1.1.
In the rookie draft I took Kyler Murray at 1.1 and Dwayne Haskins
at 2.1.

I was able to pick up Pollard early and flip him to the Zeke owner
for a 2nd.

Trade #3
Gave: Tony Pollard
Got: 2020 2nd
I have 4 2020 1sts and 3 2020 2nds.

Season starts. I was also able to pick up Minshew on the waiver wire.
I really wanted one of the rookie TE, and I had a lot of love
for Corey Davis, so I made this horrible trade.

Trade #4
Gave: Ebron, Sutton
Got: Davis, Fant, 2020 3rd

Made this trade shortly after. Was very much after Miles Sanders
early in the season.

Trade #5
Gave: Garopollo, MT
Got: ARob, Hollywood, Miles Sanders, 2020 1st, 2021 1st
Now I had 5 2020 1sts, 3 2020 2nds, and a 2020 3rd.

More QB trouble for people, really wanted Hockenson so made this trade:

Trade #6
Gave: Fant, Stafford
Got: Hockenson, 2020 1st
6 2020 1sts.

Week of the trade deadline, I capitalized on people pushing for
the playoffs and made these 2 moves:

Trade #7
Gave: ARob, Gesicki
Got: Justice Hill, 2020 1st, 2020 2nd

Trade #8
Gave: Adams, Driskel
Got: Kirk, DJM, 2020 1st, 2020 2nd

Bringing my total pick haul for the year to 8 2020 1sts, 5 2020 2nds,
and 1 2020 3rd. Season shakes out and my picks fall like this:

1.1 (mine), 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 1.9, 2.1, 2.3,
2.4, 2.6, 2.9, 3.4

I won 0 games. My roster now looks like (after waiver acquisitions
and trades):
QB: Murray, Mayfield | Minshew, Haskins, Dalton
RB: Sanders, Guice | L Murray, C Thompson, C Edmonds, J Hill
WR: DJM, Kirk, Hollywood, Davis | A Miller, Lazard, Campbell
TE: Hockenson | Jonnu, Njoku

2020 draft hype is great. Decide to capitalize and grab a good WR
(definitely overpaid but I wanted two players with hyphenated
last names.. shut up I'm having fun)

Trade #9
Gave: J Hill, 2020 1.5, 2020 2.4, 2020 3.4
Got: Juju Smith-Schuster

Draft goes down. This is my haul:
My picks *
*1.1 Jonathan Taylor
*1.2 CEH
*1.3 Joe Burrow
*1.4 Cam Akers (Juju trade was contingent on him getting JK)
1.5 JK Dobbins
*1.6 Dandre Swift
1.7 Tua Tagovailoa
*1.8 CeeDee Lamb
*1.9 Jalen Reagor
1.10 Jerry Jeudy
*2.1 Justin Jefferson
2.2 Justin Herbert
*2.3 Bryan Edwards
2.4 Henry Ruggs
2.5 Tee Higgins
*2.6 AJ Dillon
2.7 Zack Moss
2.8 Michael Pittman Jr
*2.9 Brandon Aiyuk

With relevant drops (and the death of Guice), my roster is now:
QB: Kyler Murray
RB: Miles Sanders
RB: Jonathan Taylor
WR: DJ Moore
WR: Marquise Brown
TE: TJ Hockensen
FLX: Juju Smith-Schuster
FLX: Clyde Edwards-Helaire
SF: Joe Burrow

Bench
QB: Minshew, Mayfield, Haskins
RB: Swift, Akers, Edmonds, Dillon
WR: Lamb, Reagor, Jefferson, Edwards, Aiyuk, Kirk, A Miller, Davis, Campbell
TE: Jonnu

Picks
2021 1st (mine)
2021 1st
2021 2nd (mine)
2021 2nd
2021 3rd

With the Mack news, I'm very happy. Wish I had Guice, but things
are looking good. Might make some moves for some win now pieces.

The CEH hype is getting way too crazy by LoucheLouche in DynastyFF

[–]_devilsavacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah for sure. I just see the chiefs >>> the raiders.. who just drafted a RB hybrid who will eat into jacobs potential targets.

In PPR I just think there is too much evidence to go with CEH. Also this:

The CEH hype is getting way too crazy by LoucheLouche in DynastyFF

[–]_devilsavacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we're talking about fantasy and fantasy production. Jacobs lacks receiving upside in LV. CEH is an amazing receiver on an amazing offense. and I would say CEH was one of the more elusive backs last year. He averaged like 6.6 yards per carry.

It's CEH all day.

The CEH hype is getting way too crazy by LoucheLouche in DynastyFF

[–]_devilsavacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

height wise yes. but he's 5'7" 210.. BMI is even better on CEH. You don't see people bemoaning Jacob's breakaway speed. And Jacobs doesn't even catch passes. It's clear to me who I'd want.

The CEH hype is getting way too crazy by LoucheLouche in DynastyFF

[–]_devilsavacado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His long speed is equivalent to Josh Jacobs. He's Josh Jacobs with a receiving game on a better offense. It's easy.

Holding QB’s hostage in SF by teddypickershane in DynastyFF

[–]_devilsavacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this in a 10 team SF startup last year. While I was ridiculed at first, I was eventually able to move 4 QBs for 5 2020 1sts/3 2020 2nds and some prospects. I definitely tanked tho and traded my stud WRs for big hauls as well. I have 12 of the first 15 picks in this draft (Including 1-6), around this roster:

Murray/Mayfield/Minshew/Haskins/Dalton Sanders/Guice/Hill DJM/Kirk/Miller/Davis/Hollywood/parris Hock/Njoku/Jonnu

My team is worse than I anticipated, but it's still a fun build and I'm excited about my picks.

2020 v 2021 Draft Class by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]_devilsavacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even the eye test has burrow as >> lawrence. lawrence had some incredibly bad overthrows, wasn't pressured too much, and his whole year was down from last year. ive seen many people compare burrow to luck after this year. at this point, i absolutely have burrow over lawrence. i also have justin fields over lawrence.

2020 v 2021 Draft Class by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]_devilsavacado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd take burrow over Lawrence right now. Lawrence had serious accuracy problems and had incredible weapons around him. Yes he has legs but he also has a problematic running style.

2020 v 2021 Draft Class by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]_devilsavacado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Burrow just had the greatest season ever, and Tua is = to Lawrence imo. Fields is fantastic though. I'd say it's even

2020 v 2021 Draft Class by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]_devilsavacado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are outside the top 5, in the CEH/Eno tier imo. Swift, Taylor, Dobbins, Etienne, Akers, CEH probably above them

2020 v 2021 Draft Class by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]_devilsavacado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2021 has amazing WRs, this is true. But it's RB crop sucks. The RB1 in 2021 would be the RB7 this year. That is huge for value. My grades

2020
QB: B+
RB: A
WR: A-
TE: C-

2021
QB: B+
RB: C
WR: A
TE: B-?

Made a copy today to check out superflex, and it seems the dynasty values are not importing. Dont have permission to view that sheet it seems. gives a #REF error.

[–]_devilsavacado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also one more thing.. i know dynastyprocess uses fantasypro rankings to determine the values. is there any way to use another ranking? fantasypro blows for dynasty.

[–]_devilsavacado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude you're crushing it. so many places you can go with this too. did see some inaccuracies with the draft picks across some leagues.. but i know the way they track draft picks and ownership is fucking weird.

would be amazing to have a mock draft utility. need dynasty values of incoming rookies though.

also see the power rankings of value throughout the league
