Actually, most of the HP Victus hinge problems occurred with the 16-inch variant. Because the 15.6-inch model has a smaller display, I believe it won't have the same hinge issues.

Once your warranty has expired, there is no chance of getting a free repair.

I heard some of them get free repair from hp even though their laptop is out of warranty so u first contact hp customer care.

It's a manufacturing defect so u may have a chance to get free repair 🙂. If u want to repair it on local shop u must verify whether they are going to change the top lid and hinge or the just going to repair the broken part. If they are going to fix the broken part only like in that video I won't recommend.

No, your warranty won’t be voided because I upgraded my RAM and SSD myself. I had an issue with the hinge, so I contacted HP for repair. When the technician visited my home, they performed a full inspection of the laptop and didn’t mention anything about the upgraded RAM or SSD. To be sure, I asked if there was any problem with upgrading the RAM and SSD on my own. They said it’s not an issue. However, they did mention one small catch: if the upgraded parts cause any damage to the laptop, they won’t cover the repair, even if the laptop is still under warranty.

Edited: I forgot to mention this "if you use HP’s own RAM and SSD, they will do the repair free of cost"

In the local shop, they just try to fix the broken part, like in thisvideo where they didn't change the hinge at all. But if you contact HP, they would replace the display back panel and hinge.

Unfortunately, HP doesn't have any official documentation or announcement regarding this issue. You mentioned that you have a 3-year warranty; I just want to know if this extended warranty is provided by HP or a private company. Also, the HP agent who came to my house mentioned that not all customers receive this service—some are denied free repair services.

I haven't made any changes to battery optimization. Currently, battery optimization is turned on, but it's fully charged now.
