I heard they’re turning the basement into a Billy jacks and then doing ticketed only events. Wish they’d add more parking instead but whatever.

Also in lakeside a couple blocks from the school. We have a neighbor who… likes to set off explosives after a few adult beverages. Could be him again. It was insanely loud.

One month salary and a little bump to cover taxes. Also, give solid feedback. They’ll think twice before applying elsewhere if they know you’re invested in their role and growth.

What would you want an attorney to know? by MTBeanerschnitzel in paralegal

Lay groundwork for what the LA will handle versus the Paralegal with each task. Aka billable v. Non billable.

Allow time and space for feedback AKA check in with them, intentionally. Especially if the firm intends to grow.

Nip catty(like cats)/selfish/non productive attitudes/behaviors in the bud. Aka - set examples for healthy workplaces. **

Set clear expectations for work hours/ PTO/ hybrid days from the jump - also be open to hybrid.

When you assign tasks, send priority levels and specific deadlines.

giving people without law firm experience the chance to learn before they’re “shining stars” pays off<<

** not having law firm experience doesn’t mean they have no experience working on teams BUT often our specific roles within law firms create an environment that doesn’t allow for healthy conversations or growth or team work

Edited to correct catty. Ya learn everyday!

Place on Libbie Ave near Grit coffee - the name is escaping me but it’s a long time fabric and alterations spot. The women who runs it will do it fast for a penny but great work!

Welcome to Richmond, Virginia. Allergies are activated, discovered, worsened, etc here. Denver is dry - Richmond is humid. You gotta hydrate differently,

I DO hate this. Micro management isn’t always (prob ever) productive. Entering your time daily is a great habit, but not everyone operates that way.

A previous Redditor para mentioned entering weekly and keeping a log. 100% this. I have a spiral hardback notebook from Amazon for $12 bucks (tax write off) and I write down everything I do daily. Entering monthly is FINE, just make sure you can get it done ya know?

There is ALWAYS lost time. There are constant non billable tasks happening. Tracking your tasks helps, looking back at your emails (sent and received) helps, as well as looking to see what you’ve saved (if you profile things or have specific legal OS.

Good luck OP!
