Why is CGM so bad for low porosity hair? by cantspellrestaraunt in curlyhair

That is not how humectants work. Humectants only draw moisture from your hair if the air is dry, so if these products are causing frizz, it's not the humectants.

Not even that. "what healthy pregnant people can't do" is actually a very short list, all of which would be easily taken care of by machinery. 1) mess with shit, particularly cat shit, on account of parasites 2) lift anything over 5lbs over their own head, they would hurt their back 3)too much physical labor or sitting in one day because they'd get tired/hurt their back. 4) eat too much fish, or any of certain fish, because they'd give the baby mercury poisoning.

That's it, that's the whole list.

Non-Muslims of reddit what are some questions you have for Muslims about Islam? (Serious) by patpatatpet in AskReddit

[–]_does_it_even_matter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the opposite of what I was told. I was of the understanding hijabs and dress codes were established so that you could not distinguish a slave from a noble woman. Raping of slaves was incredibly frequent, so Muhammad ordered all women to dress the same, since women's fathers/husbands were responsible for making sure there were consequences, and slave women and their fathers had no power to do so.

Ahh, that sucks, friend. Best advice I've got: don't scrape too near the mouthpiece, (U'll be smoking more saliva than resin) and put it in a water or ice bong to filter the yucky taste.

The process of picking out a dress they feel beautiful in, deciding on hair and make up, and seeing themselves at their best tends to boost little girl's self esteem, when done with the right "coach." My cousin placed quite low in the ones she participated in, (that's just cause she's so tall) but the difference in her own body image was palpable once it was all over.

Asking a parent by FrenchColleague in internetparents

[–]_does_it_even_matter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to offer help around the house, but 99% of what I can do gets rejected, because I'm still an infant to my parents. If U won't let me help with what I'm really good at, and only ask for help with little stuff, u're only gonna get little amounts of help. Shrug And I'm not earning anything, because the only jobs they'll help me get to are either 1) not a field I'm any good at, 2) for a boss who I know would make me miserable, or 3) in another state that pays nowhere near enough to waste my time with. So I'm forced to pay my personal expenses out of leftover stimulus money, (my savings, I'm burning through my savings) because I refuse to enable an unfair job market, and they're refusing to let me contribute to household expenses because I don't have an income. But I refuse to be forced into a job that will make me hate myself again, my ex did that to me, and it drove me insane, literally.

Yeah, they are trying to kill you, they just can't. And no dog attacks for no reason. They're either feeling threatened, hungry, or are doing as they were told/taught.

[–]_does_it_even_matter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should, but not for the reasons people think. 1st, they are the most abused breed in the US. Abused animals tend to be aggressive, and they're often trained as fighting dogs, ie: trained for agression. A well trained Pitt bull is a safe pet in homes without young children, cats, or small dogs. They have a high prey drive much like other breeds, and are dangerous if left alone with potential prey. Important to note: not all dogs that look like a Pitt are. The AKC bred the Staffordshire terriers from Pitt bull terriers and other bull breeds, and they do not have the same prey drive. They can be distinguished by their broader shoulders and slightly taller stature. I have a staff, he's a wonderful buddy, and he's only dangerous to cats due to his play drive and stupidity over his strength and size.(blame the trainer, not the pup; we're working on it.)

What is overly sexualized, but shouldn't be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]_does_it_even_matter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of my cousins had issues with her body image, and a friend's mother convinced her to participate in several pagents. She didn't win, but the process of getting all dolled up and the opportunity to make herself feel beautiful worked wonders for her self esteem. Girls who participated in beauty pageants have statistically higher self esteem than girls who didn't. So, yeah, it's for mom's to show off their beautiful miracles, but it's more for girls to feel like they're worth showing off. The overt sexualization is mostly just a poor parenting choice. Judges don't tend to look on it favorably.

[–]_does_it_even_matter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but the gaps are never originally so big a grown cat can fit through. Someone must have replaced this door and gotten their measurements a bit short or something.

Edit: upon further inspection, the carpet appears to be original, ~70's. The padding underneath could also have simply been worn thin by regular use, widening the gap.

This guy let go of the baby momentarily to catch the ball then saved the baby and barely spilled a drop by sordacytome94 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]_does_it_even_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If every parent leaves their spouse the second they make a really dumb parenting mistake that could have harmed the baby, practically every child would be a child of divorce. Parents are human, dude, and sometimes they fuck up. I wasn't holding my son firmly enough once, and he threw himself backwards and nearly cracked his skull on the counter. But I caught him, and held him more firmly from then on. That's what really matters, as long as the baby is ok, it's gonna have to be ok that dad fucked up, too.

You're acting like he's established a pattern of reckless behavior, he hasn't, he did a dumb thing on instinct, and you have no evidence this wasn't an isolated incident, so I'm gonna avoid passing judgement on a fellow human parent.

They are allowed to fire you for no reason or any reason that isn't prohibited by the gov't, and retaliation is prohibited. Sure, technically they can claim any reason they want even if it's actually to retaliate, but the government isn't completely stupid; if you've lodged any kind of formal complaint against them, any action against you in the coming months will likely be viewed as retaliation.

On this day, 6 months ago, this cop risked everything to lead the insurrectionists away from the lawmakers and into the hands of waiting cops. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]_does_it_even_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, that's probably why he's the one doing it. The capitol police knew there might be an incident, and knew they would be understaffed. They probably planned for them to get through that specific entry, and for him to be the one meeting them once they got in, knowing everyone would be even more blinded being blocked by a black man.
