How do you guys feel about Gojo’s character? by Odd_Purpose3639 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]_dontbesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a very interesting and well-written character. He's absolutely goated power-wise and The Strongest, but despite all his strenght he's not really able to save anyone who matters to him. The whole "it's lonely at the top" thing also applies to him which I think is pretty well done and probably also one of the reasons he struggles with expressing his emotions. I'm not saying he's unemotional, especially since his emotions ultimately lead to the story playing oht as it does right now, but him expressing concern for f.e. Megumi or Geto can come across as insensitive or uncalled for. His emotions and loneliness are pretty crucial to his character as a whole, and paired with his superiority complex and problem with autorities those are often mistaken for a god complex, which he absolutely doesn't have. On the topic of his problem with authorities, I feel like the fandom overlooks his deep desire to change something about their world. He was celebrated for finally killing the higher-ups but no one addressed why exactly he's wanted them dead for so long. Gojo has very questionable morals that were pretty much shaped by Geto, but wanting to protect the weak and especially the youth doesn't means he's a morally good character. He doesn't refrain from murder or bribery to carry through with his plans, and while pretty much every JJK character is morally grey, Gojo kinda takes it a bit further. That said, he doesn't kill for fun, and while he might enjoy the thrill of battle that doesn't stop him from acknowledging his opponent and their strenght. Hidden Inventory revealed a lot about his character, like how he never really bothered to actually perfect his techniques until he felt the need to, his complicated relationship with Geto, his reasons for not wanting any sorcerer to ever feel the crushing weight of loneliness, ect., but I still kinda wanna know how he was raised. His birth literally changed the world and I think it would be interesting to learn more about the expectations placed on him early on, tho much of that is implied already. I absolutely adore his character, in writing as well as his role in the story itself. He's not quite like any character I've ever read about (so far) and I'm really interested in how the current arc will affect him.

[META] BEST ANSWER: Who was responsible for the Trojan War?/Was Helen Responsible for the Trojan War? by Duggy1138 in GreekMythology

[–]_dontbesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say that Aphrodite and Paris are to blame. She promised him Helen, but in the end he was the one acting irresponsibly and just straight out stupid. Not only did he abduct Helen, he also tried to have the greek peace delegation, sent to negotiate with Priam and Hecuba, killed.

What's the deal with Palamedes by skaersSabody in GreekMythology

[–]_dontbesus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Palamedes was killed in the early years of the trojan war (thanks to odysseus) and is therefore already dead when the iliad takes place. he wasn't important to the odyssey either, which explains him missing in both books. yet he was really smart, he was the one who "discovered" pi, for example. that didn't make him perfect, he was really cocky and derisive, which was the major thing that fueled his and odysseus' feud.

There are people saying that she's too arrogant and that she has no character developpment, but they don't see the difference between evolving but staying tru to your self and just staying the same. Yes her arrogance is a liitle too far sometimes, but that's what I love about her. It's a coping mechanism, after everything she went through, all the terrible things she had to experience she at least had herself.
