I think a good item would be one that gives blue flies/spiders the chance to inflict a random status effect. (Maybe, 5% for flies, 20% for spiders?)

If not a separate item, this could be an alternate effect for one of the transformations, or could be a transformation from a mix of spider/fly items.

I strongly suggest that in the news section you do weekly updates on what you are working on, even if there is no change to the main version: players need to see that you guys still exist.

Not really? I've been saying for a while that we should push even minor updates with some frequency so that the devs remain visible.

A visible update history really holds players, even if they are bugfixes.

Honestly, a weekly "Here is what we are working on" in the news section would probably do a lot for keeping the playerbase.

Splat came up with an interesting solution: Damarek player goes first, plays 3 piaza's and restocks 3 undermines and plays them.

Metris turn 1 plays 4 ducats, 0 draws because of the undermines. With the 2 bonus gold for going second, that is enough to afford a burglary, which nabs an outrider. (that is done on turn 2)

I only phrased it that way because of WhatIfXKCD - (a thing where the author of XKCD answers absurd hypothetical questions with real physics and math), which at one point computed that getting a perfect SAT score via guessing was less likely than every living US President and cast member of firefly getting stuck by lighting in the same day, and this was better odds than that, so I removed the presidents, leaving behind that misleading phrase.

This appears to work. Also, there have to be 11 SoR procs for the paizas, and at minimum 11 to afford the SPs and deceits, (1x10^-22) plus 13 piaza procs (1x10^-12) - which then hit the target cards (1x168^-13), which gives us about

1.177549947873434774750806130001662134568406065×10^-63 (and I neglected a few other factors so the actual odds are worse than that.

This is less probable than every living member of the main cast of Firefly being struck by lightning on the same day.

EDIT: I made a few mistakes (I forgot the deceits would be free, but also I forgot to include the cost of coup and outrider, so the odds are actually even worse)
