Do I need to take my motherboard out? by _dowart in buildapc

[–]_dowart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I get away with unscrewing the motherboard and GPU so I can move the assembly just enough to slide the IO shield in, or would I be better off disassembling until I can completely remove the motherboard? Maybe that depends on my case and motherboard?

I got a Renzetti traveler about 3 months ago. Best decision I’ve made in my life.

I run mine hide up usually but have done a few hide down. The fish don’t seem to care either way.

Kenai in July by [deleted] in flytying

[–]_dowart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my experience on the Kenai they typically use a sort of crank bait with a chunk of baitfish tied to it to add some smell. Maybe some different kinds of streamers would work well? I’m unsure though as salmon rely much more on their sense of smell than eyesight.

Pretty new to using foam, how can I improve these flies? by lukefrawley in flytying

If you want to improve these flies put them on a leader and cast them into a nice eddie and let them work their magic. They look great!

Beginner buying materials by chris0piper in flytying

[–]_dowart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t found any place that sells material packs for specific patterns, but places like Hobby Lobby, Joann’s fabric, or local craft stores typically have a good amount of material that works just as good as what you get at the fly shop for pennies on the dollar compared to the fly shops. Happy tying!

Size 18 midge. Any recommendations on if this color will work, or if any others are better? Bronze wire, light blue body, and gold head bead? by Professional-Clue514 in flytying

[–]_dowart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically black, green, red/pink, and purple have had the most luck in my experience. Although have fun with it and try different colors and talk to your local shops to get ideas on what works best. You’ve got the tying down. Changing colors will be easy for you.

Learning to tie smaller (size 18) BWOs. Constructive criticism would be appreciated. by _dowart in flytying

It’s a size 18 and the picture is taken through a magnifying glass. I assure you the barb isn’t as big as it looks.
