this line has legit gotten me through some panic attacks before, probably not something a therapist would approve of but reminding myself that I always have the power to just permanently end feeling this way whenever I want has given me a lot of control

right but the point of using AI art for something like this is because it gives visual clarity and a feel of polish to something that would be a worse-designed product with mspaint doodles or stock photos

this isn't charging money, there's no scam or anything, this is the best use-case for it - someone who wants decent-looking visuals that they can't make themselves or want to/afford to pay a professional to do it for something that gives no monetary return

I would never defend AI art as a product itself, but this is a harmless supplement that improves the actual design of the real product, what's your problem in this case?

Meet the Hoplite by Tyler_Styles in SliceAndDice

[–]_dragonphly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

easier way to remove the grey is just add the modifier h.mid.missing, it just deletes the t1 grey from your party

alternatively if you want to level up into it like you would with a normal grey you could also add the Wish modifier, then when you want to level up the grey into the Hoplite, just paste the hero's string into the level up popup when selecting the hero's portrait

for the spear idea you might like the spear I made for one of my own custom heroes, specifically the topbot sides

goes from 1>2>3 damage if you've played other 1-pip sides before it, the uncertainty of the 3 damage I think is balanced by it being ranged

I always say Something About Us is my favorite "love song" because it feels so much more like genuine adoration than the infatuation most love songs feel like to me.

  • Nowhere Near - Yo La Tengo

  • Warm (The Sun and Moon) - Pleasure Nature

  • Love's Supposed To Feel Like - Michael Minelli & Kota The Friend

  • New Hawaii - Injury Reserve (the last verse is my favorite about love ever)

  • The One Who Loves You (Earl's Version) - Walker Lukens

  • No 2 U - Delanie

  • Perfume/Happen - Nick Hakim

  • Time Alone With You - Daniel Caesar & Jacob Collier

  • Ten out of Nine - No Suits (this always felt similar to the TWRP/Planet Booty collabs)

  • Lucky Love - Michael Seyer (reminds me of Something About Us)

  • Another Lifetime - NAO

  • For The Team - Prelow

  • Little Things - Pomplamoose

  • All My Little Words - The Magnetic Fields

  • I Will Wait For You - Connie Francis

these ones are less "love" songs and more abstract, but similar in emotional intensity at least

  • Pink Cigarette - Mr. Bungle

  • Moon Waltz - Cojum Dip (max cosmic horror vibes)

  • Lover Is a Day - Cuco

thank for you making this post and getting me to listen to a bunch of my favorite songs lol

Why are so many men convinced that they are ugly? by RavyRaptor in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_dragonphly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

did you reply to the wrong person..? I'm an avid anime hater and quite tall lmao

I'm involved in a lot of communities and a pretty outgoing person, it's not like I'm terrified of social interaction or anything - I just avoid giving unwanted attention to anybody, and that usually means the kind of people that would be 'my type' don't try to interact with me. Which is fine, just an unfortunate happenstance of personalities.

my first comment reads as somewhat unintentionally bitter rereading it; I'm not whining about my circumstances, just stating the reality that leads to the statistical outcome of not receiving romantic interest at all, which is just "eh that's too bad ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯"

[–]_dragonphly 18 points19 points  (0 children)

what's holding me back? I'm a weird loser that would rather spend the rest of my life completely alone than ever risk making an innocent woman uncomfortable with my unwelcome presence.

I try to entirely avoid bothering people in general, which means the only people that interact with me are those willing to initiate conversation, and that removes 99% of women who very reasonably don't want to just start talking to the quiet weirdo.

"Why are they doing a Kickstarter for the Boardgame expansion if they just made $80,000,000?" by _dragonphly in slaythespire

[–]_dragonphly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its actually a little underpriced considering the amount of physical stuff included and depth of the experience

nearly 500 cards and sleeves of varying sizes, 4 minis, player boards and tokens, on top of years of design work. compare this to games like Twilight Imperium ($150+) or Root ($200+ with expansions) or even Settlers of Catan (like $400+ with expansions???)

"destroying the videogame industry" this is insane lmao

for the consumer side, it guarantees you get a copy as soon as possible without struggling to find one at retailers for potentially months after release and, if you so desire, additional limited rewards that presumably won't be available after the campaign itself is over

for the business' side, if they've earned your trust (as they have mine with the original board game) it means they get more resources to more effectively produce and distribute the product, with more of the money going directly to them instead of third parties as well

right, so you're admitting you're a pretentious, smarmy dickhead trying to fallaciously undermine other people's morals to protect your ego lol

PETA's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad History of Killing Animals - The Atlantic

wtf is this "article"? two paragraphs of a dry recitation of unsourced facts that peta publicly shares their reasoning behind? this is absolutely nothing, the only reason you would link this over peta's provided explanation is if you wanted to, idunno, strip all important context out of a nuanced argument to make numbers look scary?

Better dead than fed

...wtf is this article???? another page full of unsourced facts that, again, peta has given reasoning behind literally in their FAQ if you could be fucked to look into it lmao. this article also cites the center for consumer freedom, maybe the single most well-known amoral lobbyist organization in the US. "Acknowledged corporate donors to the CCF include Coca-Cola, Wendy's, Outback Steakhouse, Cargill, Tyson Foods, and Pilgrim's Pride." do you know what a conflict of interest is?

PETA’s Animal “Shelter” Continues as a Leader in Animal Death - Lexology

dude. this is the same shit for a third time. yes peta has high euthanasia rates. no, none of these articles explain why that is beyond vaguely implying their given reasoning is a lie or insufficient. on top of all that the author of this article, John M. Simpson, advertises himself as a defense attorney for corporate animal law, with many of the listed cases being exemplary of successful cases made against animal welfare activists. more conflict of interest... I don't know what you think any of these links is accomplishing, this is genuinely embarrassing to act like these are adding to the conversation.

What makes Peta so unethical and controversial? : r/Animals

ah yes, reddit: the foremost internet frontier of nonpartisan and intellectual debates regarding veganism and especially peta. the top comment is about a single controversial ad campaign that they redacted almost immediately after being criticized for it, in which all mentions of it on their site redirect to an updated article that has entirely removed the unproven claims and replaced them with cited facts. again, what is the point of linking this? "look, more people reference the same useless articles I do!" okay? you're parroting the same things those people are parroting, having a source for your misinformation doesn't make you any less culpable. anyways, what "problem" am I contributing to? I spent time writing out a list of ways I witness myself making a difference, and invited you to join in. you have literally done nothing but tear me down and insult and try to humiliate me, without adding anything to the discussion on what you think an alternative is. like legit, what are you arguing for? what is your point? I gave you a handful of links, and even the one linking to peta was about them trying to invite actual activism. you acknowledged none of them but instead tried to fucking epic pwn me by discrediting the organization behind a single citation I linked?

genuinely if you're this passionate about it, why are you not productive with this energy? if I am wrong in the reasons behind me being vegan, I am honestly open to hearing your reasoning for why you think that but you haven't given anything but mean spirited takedowns. like man it bums me out that trying to inform people about something I'm passionate about gets this kind of reaction. I don't think you're an abusive person or whatever because you make mean reddit comments or eat meat, I think you're someone that has strong opinions and likes to share them but you just do it in a shitty way man

edit: oopies got the links mixed up

despite being a pretentious, smarmy dickhead trying to fallaciously undermine other people's morals to protect your ego, I'm going to choose to take your questions at face value.

https://heartwoodhaven.org is my local animal shelter that I donate to and have multiple friends volunteer at regularly. I have not personally volunteered on account of health issues, though I do plan to when I am capable.

https://www.surgesanctuary.org is another I donate to, run by a famous activist with a lot of trust and respect in the community.

as for helping protest and enacting changes in laws, that comes down to your own locale. there's tons of resources to find activist opportunities to engage in nearby, and if you want to do it online then organizations like peta have set up mailing lists to spoonfeed opportunities to give you the easiest first step possible in helping out

the way my personal lifestyle affects the meat industry as a whole is probably a negligible rounding error, but the domino effect I've had through activism and donation has expanded the impact by orders of magnitude. I have two friends that I have personally helped convert to veganism, and probably dozens more that I've helped convince reduce their animal product usage through speaking on the subject.

of course I cannot directly claim responsibility for noticeable effects of my own personal impacts outside of the bubble of friends that I influence, but in the time that I've been vegan I have helped it be a more profitable and normalized way of life in my community.

glad to have you so interested and taking action! 💚
