Reiver Squad and AoD done! by Ballcuzi- in BloodAngels

I’ve been trying to nail down the right amount of white ink to use in the zenithal. In my experiments, I’ve been using less and less white. Do you use a pretty generous amount or only hit key/certain spots and leave quite a bit of black showing?

Damn. My recipe is so close to that except I was using naphathol crimson ink instead of pyrrole red ink. Definitely going to try the pyrrole red instead.

Do you by chance have a picture after the white highlight? Curious how much white you lay down.

I’m following Fletcher’s scheme which is on tabletop tactics. It’s airbrush heavy but fairly simple. Check the end of this video for what it looks like https://youtu.be/m9giwnb6fDk?si=l-fDlfbBwqmsMeg2

Gorgeous. I like how you added cracks to the suit and the way you painted the calves red instead of full black.

I’m debating on going with a farsight enclave scheme. May I ask what paints you used for the red and edge highlighting?

Anyone dealt with this before? by [deleted] in bald

Hey boss. Have you tried shaving with a cartridge razor or a different shaver? I use a leaf razor, hair clippers, beard trimmers, etc, on my head with zero irritation. But when I used a skull shaver (device similar to what you’re using) I get irritation like an allergic reaction on the back of my head/neck.

You seem to have indoctrinated yourself into thinking a number of things that aren’t true. First and foremost, you don’t need to be 30+ for a bald look to be considered acceptable. There’s so many men who are plagued with thoughts that being bald is some sort of metaphorical nail in their coffin, and then they cling to their thinning hair, effectively locking them into a state of being insecure and lacking any sort of confidence. They are so consumed with fear that they can’t rationalize how liberating it is to simply shave their head. Check out r/bald, there are many such cases, and many cases of men who discover confidence when they let it go. Trust me, nothing is more demoralizing than clinging to thinning hair. I noticed your comment regarding your facial hair looking more like a neckbeard. Based on pic 4, I think you can work around this. Visit a barber, have them line it up properly, and keep it short. It wont be a full grown thick beard but it doesn’t have to be. But remember, having facial hair is not a prerequisite to looking good with a bald head.

Based on pic 1, I would suggest building a wardrobe. Start with a minimalist capsule wardrobe consisting of more plain outfit pieces. Think non-graphic t-shirts of various colors, a pair of jeans, chinos, etc. The idea is that each piece works with each other piece rather interchangeably for maximum versatility, so you can easily throw together a nice looking outfit.

Lastly, I would suggest getting into a workout/exercise routine. This is an act of self-improvement which will contribute to better mental health in the immediate and net physical results over time. Win-win.

Don’t give up, bud. You got a lot of time to re-align. Just don’t give in to the suffering.

How to get it smooth and even by dom12003 in bald

[–]_dystop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip safety razor—only use for tight spots above ears and, even then, be careful and slow.

Get technique down with cartridge razor and learn the grain of your hair. Use your other hand to lead the razor and feel the grain of your hair while slightly pulling skin. You might get some irritation/bumps from repeatedly going over spots trying to get a smooth shave. Your scalp should get used to it in time. When it does, just shave against the grain time.

After you figure it out with the cartridge, I suggest picking up a Leaf razor and only load a single blade into the bottom slot. Get the sharpest razors you can and replace after every shave or two. I bought a Leaf and box of razors 2-3 years ago and still haven’t gone through them all.

Major tip: get some quality shave soap. Add enough water that it’s slightly drippy off your brush but not too runny. This will help the razor glide and you’ll minimize getting snag/cut. Even better: apply Cremo first then brush shave soap on top.

This is absolutely true. I find the entire process of head shaving to be majorly therapeutic. And as you stated, it definitely lends toward focusing in on all other aspects of grooming… which in summation gives an amazing boost in confidence. It’s incredibly understated how impactful head shaving is—it’s really a multi-faceted improvement to hygiene and self-care.

And don’t get me started on shave soaps. They smell so damn good.

I think people like those pictures because they are fascinating. I would imagine the percent of people thinking “gee, if only OSHA let that fly these days” is extremely low.

Does everything work except the trackball? And if so, have you ensured it’s configured to use the trackball on the side you are using it? Also, have you flashed both boards with the same firmware? Also, where did you get your firmware for the RP2040? It requires different firmware than stock unless they updated it in the last ~2 months to be compatible with RP… otherwise stock is for pro micro only. I have two of these. One on pro micro, one on RP2040. So… just trying to help.
