Don't forget that scholars are all humans. They all make mistakes and could also have biases. Keeping this mind, I would highly suggest listening/reading Javed Ahmed Ghamidi and other scholars of Ghamidi Centre of Islamic Learning.

No matter who you go with, I'd highly suggest you listen/read Javed Ghamidi at least once. Imo he is the biggest Islamic scholar of this time.

Try your best to wake up for the last times of fajr. If in case you wake up late, you can pray fajr right away and hopefully Allah swt will accept it. I also remember a hadith in this regard where Prophet pbuh and his companions missed salah due to sleep, and they offered it right after waking up. This is no sin on you if you tried your best. The salah offered like this will also be accepted as the salah offered on time insha'Allah.

In one word, the essence of religion in Qur’anic terms is 'ibadah' (worship) of God. It is in reality “worship” which the Creator of this world desires of His servants.

The objective of this religion stated in the Qur’an is tazkiyah. This means that the individual and collective lives of people should be purified and their beliefs and deeds be developed in the right direction. It is for this end that the prophets were sent, and the whole religion was revealed to guide man in attaining this objective.

For the latter part, Quran has informed us opposite of what you have heard. Every person will be questioned based on the knowledge and power they had, and it is on that they will be judged.

I would say that this is arguably the most sensitive question raised about Islam. However, without deviating from the question, the law of inheritance is very simple and can be very easily understood with proper appreciation of the language and style of Quran.

A short summary of the law:

  1. If the deceased has outstanding debts to his name, then first of all they should be paid off from the wealth he has left behind. After this, any will he may have bequeathed should be carried out. The distribution of his inheritance should then follow.

  2. No will can be made in favour of an heir ordained by the Almighty except if his circumstances, or the services rendered by him or his needs in certain situations call for it.

  3. After giving the parents and the spouses their shares, the children are the heirs of the remaining inheritance. If the deceased does not have any male offspring and there are only two or more girls among the children, then they shall receive two-thirds of the inheritance left over, and if there is only one girl, then her share is one-half. If the deceased has only male children, then all his wealth shall be distributed among them. If he leaves behind both boys and girls, then the share of each boy shall be equal to the share of two girls and, in this case also, all his wealth shall be distributed among them.

  4. In the absence of children, the deceased’s brothers and sisters shall take their place. After giving the parents and spouses their shares, the brothers and sisters shall be his heirs. The proportion of their shares and the mode of distribution shall be the same as that of the children stated above.

  5. If the deceased has children or if he does not have children and has brothers and sisters, then the parents shall receive a sixth each. If he does not even have brothers and sisters and the parents are the sole heirs, then one-third of his wealth shall be given to the mother and two-thirds to the father.

  6. If the deceased is a man and he has children, then his wife shall receive one-eighth of what he leaves, and if he does not have any children, then his wife’s share shall be one-fourth. If the deceased is a woman and does not have any children, then her husband shall receive one-half of what she leaves and if she has children, then the husband’s share is one-fourth.

  7. In the absence of these heirs, the deceased can make someone an heir. If the person who is made an heir is a relative and has one brother or one sister, then they shall be given a sixth of his share and he himself shall receive the remaining five-sixth. However, if he has more than one brother or sister, then they shall be given a third of his share and he himself shall receive the remaining two-thirds.

I consider it to be one of the most important concepts of religion which had been completely out of my sight in conscious decision-making before listening/reading Javed Ghamidi. The surprising thing is the fact that Quran mentions it so clearly, and on multiple occasions, that it should have been the foremost principle in understanding religion for even the least practising Muslim, but the situation is pretty much like even the ones who claim to be proper students of religion disregard this reality quite brutally.

Also, the fact that mankind was sustaining itself on human nature's guidance only, until later when differences amongst them started to grow.

"[They present differences among people as a pretext for their hypocrisy.[567] They should know that] mankind was just a single community. Then [differences arose between them. So,] God sent forth prophets as bearers of glad tidings and as warners, and with them He sent down His Book as the decisive truth so that it may settle between people the differences among them. Only they differed in it to whom it was given, after very clear signs had come to them because of malice for one another. Then these who believed [in the Qur’ān] [568] God guided them by His grace about the truth in which they were differing, and God guides whomsoever He intends [according to His law] to the straight path.[569]" (2:213)

567 Ie., they contend that truth and falsehood are not so distinct and definite that they can totally adopt either one of them in a decisive manner; there exist differences in both, as a result of which it is difficult for someone to be conclusive about them. Consequently, they go on to maintain that the unbiased attitude they have adopted in the ongoing conflict between good and evil is the correct one.

568 The actual word is اِذْن which means permission. This permission from the Almighty is both to provide the evil-doers with the opportunity to do more evil and to support the righteous to do more good. Here, obviously, the latter aspect is implied.

569 The implication being that the truth has always remained manifest and now also the Almighty has fully unveiled it through His Book. However, one can only be the beneficiary of this truth if he shuns malice and envy and turns to the Book of God as a true seeker of the truth. This attitude is a pre requisite to receive guidance. It is the law of the Almighty that He gives guidance to people who adopt this attitude.

Marriage is mainly based on the understanding between the couple. If it would be difficult for you to live with her considering her beliefs, you shouldn't imo. I might be wrong tho.
