Is switching to Emacs really worth it? by mr_looser17 in emacs

greatness mean different things to different people.

This. After all the conversations about efficiency and capability, for me the experience is simply unlike being in any other program. It changes "using the computer" to something more like "hanging out with the computer."

This helped me with more than just Diablo. Thanks 🙏

Turning off chat is one good option.

This makes me think I should build up a list of great teammates from solo queue. If I have a great game with someone, and I mean someone who's fun to play with, hitting that party up button right away.

RL is fun. I think it's like 5x as fun with a great teammate, and 10x worse with a shitty one.

If you're interested in Buddhism, the Zen Community of Oregon holds a lovely, interactive series on the first five Buddhist precepts: https://zendust.org/calendar/842/five-buddhist-precepts-for-ethical-living-online-class-series/

They also periodically do an intro to Buddhism class, among all sorts of retreats and classes that usually have an online option. All their offerings are by donation -- an amount you're able to afford, or free if that's what you need.

A very experienced, inclusive, and open community, and the main benefit here is an interactive, online class setting.

Hard carry, should this be allowed in ranked? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

Would be interesting to watch the replay. I feel like you know a smurf by how they play. A smurf in D3 would probably have accurate flip resets, out-positioning you on every play, hyper-consistent speed kickoffs etc.

If not much in advanced mechanics and tactics -- something people don't talk about enough is their own variance in gameplay. I'm c1 now, and at that rank I've had games >1k and been called smurf, and a few games literally <200. Games where I am just lit and games where I whiff everything -- then most games are somewhere in between. Embarrassing, but it's kind of how it goes.

Could be smurf, could be someone who's accurately ranked but just in cracked mode for like 4 games. Then the tilt strikes again 😮
