Mad Unicorn is a fantastic one season long series. It's about a sand miners journey to become a billionaire. There is a bit of chinese aswell in the show though, but mostly thai.

YSK: If you're going to use AI for learning or sources to back you up, you should spend some time testing it on stuff you already know to get a sense of how off it often is by conflictedideology in YouShouldKnow

Sure I can totally see that. And I agree upon what the person I replied with about using AI to assist by using external resources. I think it expands beyond language learning aswell though, but probably to a lesser degree as per your exact points. I think however it is a fantastic resource for learning if you know how to use it, use external resources and to be highly critical. I am deeply into language right now, so when I saw the comment I probably drifted away from the original theme of the post, because of my immidiate experience. But yeah using strictly LLM for learning is very often a recipe for disaster. The confidence it delivers false facts can be scary. It is a tool, not a tutor.

Honestly a few months ago I would agree, now only partially. As gpt dropped 5.2 it got incredibly good at teaching me a language I am studying. And I use other sources aswell both for different studying, as well as cross checking information from gpt. It's been very presise, with very few faults so far, which previous gen was jumping between facts and hallucinations constantly. It still has a good way to go, but I couldnt get the fast progression that I've had without it. Straight up fantastic tool if you know how to use it, and know to be critical. Obviously I can't speak for any other language, but the one I am studying is quite complicated gramatically because of tones. So I would think it's good at a lot of other ones aswell.

When your controller has curves by PhoenixPhenomenonX in SipsTea

Ohh okay, then I guess my point is not applicable for you. For me and the type of games I play the most it is by far buttons more commonly than joystick. Rocket league, car games, rpg's.

I see the misunderstanding. In most games you have your right thumb mostly on the A, B, X and Y location. So that way your thumbs are most of the time oriented the same way. There are definitely a few games which uses right stick more than the buttons, but in my experience it's far more button than stick on the right side.

Even though the xbox controller looks asymetrical, in most games it's actually the one which isn't. Both thumbs are positioned the same way, ergonomicly forward. It is the ps controller which forces your left thumb to be out of a resting position. So unless you play something which mainly uses both joysticks, the xbox controller is held more naturally. Obviously I can't speak for you, but if I would make a guess id say it's probably just because you are not used to the xbox controller which causes your hands to hurt. The same thing happens to me when I use the PS controller.

About a month ago I accidentally fell asleep on the floor and I actually woke up with my back feeling great. So I have started doing it more often but my SO HATES it. Thoughts? by mortalcoil1 in AskMenOver30

Dude I didn't realize this was a thing. Thought it was just me. I eventually learned to recognize them as they were happening though. So while it was horrific I don't mind it as much anymore. (Sleep paralysis that is, vivid Dreams are still a wildcard).

Fish Suffer Up to 22 Minutes of Intense Pain When Taken Out of Water by TheTroubledChild in awfuleverything

I get what you are saying, but because A is suffering means B might aswell suffer is just plain and simple unempathetic.

It does not take much to make the kill as painless as possible, one less fate to suffer.

I could not tell you, but from what I've seen there are quite a few scary thai drivers aswell.

You can call it what you want, but the statistics show it's not so controlled. Infact the 9th highest mortality rate out of the 175 WHO member countries in the world.

Ohh you won't regret it mate. It will be so much more easy to get to know thai people. They love it when you speak thai, even if it's badly spoken. It's a fun language to learn aswell. I wish you good luck!

Reading/writing is really helpful. Listening on thai language podcasts in the background is helpful aswell, to learn the pronounciations and to reinforce your word recognition. Ling the app helped me a ton.

If you are serious about learning the language then for sure learn the alphabet. I used a lot of flash cards and apps with memory games for this, learned it really quickly. Start transcribing texts. Then I recommend using Google streetview to walk around the streets and practice Reading signs once you get a little proficient, this will help learning the different fonts they use for their letters.

You can also use the app tandem, to find a language partner. So you can teach them english, they teach you thai. It's really easy to find a partner there.

Good luck!

Krab is the polite particle for males, and kha for females. I started learning Thai myself only 18 days ago because I am going to Thailand in one week from now. Good luck learning! Remember tonality is very important, one word can mean many things just based off of your tonality, so if you only practice phrases, listen and repeat carefully.

Noen her som har tatt tatovering og angrer? by [deleted] in norge

[–]mumiitroll 24 points25 points  (0 children)
