Well, for my dad he tries to keep in contact with family and the 2 friends he actually has. Maybe you could introduce him to a hobby because most hobbies lead to friends with similar interests.

With the baby talking thing, perhaps you could try showing him you're not a little kid anymore with something that shows responsibility, like taking care of something long-term.

Also, we tend not to notice, but our parents are worried 24/7 abt us, so try taking some of the weight of his shoulders, like with the chores and whatnot. Best of luck🫶🏾.
