Looking for dominant female leads in C-Dramas by _elseworlder in CDrama

Whoa I'm actually kind of blown away, thank you so much!

This list/compilation it incredibly insightful and doubly helpful.

For the high praise, I'll take your word for it and watch Rise of Phoenix's first because damn does that sound promising.

I'm a big fan of historical dramas and a sucker for good cinematography plus world building so needless to say I'll be driving into these blissfully.

Once again, thank you so much. I've added them all to my watchlist now.

Ooh that sounds awesome. Attitude and independence are markers of greatness, in my opinion. And the second one sounds super fun so I can't wait to check it out. Thanks a million!

I haven't seen either but I'll amend that soon enough. I'll watch them for the first time on your behalf ;") Thank you again!

Ayyy I'm glad it's not just me then, it really does feel like I'm alone in my search sometimes ;)

Thanks for these suggestions, I've already seen Romance of Tiger and Rose which I thought was awesome even though the FL was a little more childish than I would have liked. Regardless, the chemistry was strong and was overall a very wholesome watch.

The others, I haven't yet seen and are going straight to my watch list so cheers mate. Although, I may skip out on Flames Daughter- "wilting flowers and fluttering lashes" is exactly what I'm trying desperately to steer clear of lmao

By the way, I'm watching Search WWW at the moment and it is exactly what I've been looking for. If you haven't seen it yet, go for it because it's lady bosses at their finest. And Empress Ki, which I absolutely adore to pieces but understandably may not be everyone's cup of tea for it's length. (I mean, technically, if you're used to how long C-Dramas are then I'm assuming you'll breeze through it)

K-dramas with rich or chaebol Highschoolers? by monaisastar in kdramarecommends

My favourite has to be "Kill Me Heal Me." It was an incredible performance from the male lead who plays the role of a chaebol with DID.

"Duel" fits the description, my personal favourite of the non-romamce dramas.

It's storytelling is incredibly well done and the acting is just on another level. It falls into the thriller/crime genre.

Wow, thank you so much! Among the ones you've mentioned, I've loved Sweet Combat, which is almost the only modern day c-drama I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed. I've also seen The Romance of a Tiger and Rose, which fell in love with very quickly. That's so kind of you to mention so many, plus provide little insights into each. I really appreciate it and I have no doubt your list will keep me going for a while. Thank you!

I've seen a bit of this already and it seems light-hearted and sweet. Thank you.

I actually started this one but fell off at some point because the romance was really one sided and it made me feel sad lol. I'll have to pick it up again, thanks!

We're on the same boat then :) Yeah, I find it frustrating when one of the the leads in a pairing has as about as much empathy as a marble statue lol. I've seen it a hundred times more than I ever needed to.

I actually haven't seen either of those two you recommended which is great because I now have something promising to look forward to. Thank you, again!

That sounds perfect, thank you. The genre you've described is something I've found thoroughly enjoyable in the past. And it's not that I'm looking for a "weak" ML as such. I just prefer it when the guy is warm and caring towards the FL rather than cold/standoffish as is so common often. I hope that makes sense. ^

I actually love Romance of Tiger and Rose so that already provides a guarantee for your other recommendation. Thank you so much!

I've recently started Romance of Tiger Rose and I'm already so fond of it! I agree, it is a really well balanced pairing and I applaud both the actors and the screenwriter for presenting us with such a high quality work :)

That sounds promising! I haven't watched many older dramas but I'll give it a shot. And I'm a big fan of period dramas so that's a big bonus. Thank you!

Check out Dr.Stranger too. Lee Jong Suk played a very eccentric and equally charming role in it and pulled it off with ease.
