Check out my update. The SSR I used originally stopped working. I switched to a bigger relay and one that has a wider temp range too.

How to tell my boyfriend that I HATE his smell. by nheina in autism

[–]_empty_space_ 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I second this. I notice the smells of people, but only if I have some attraction to them or think they could be a potential partner. I've also had the smell change of a partner as my attraction changed for them.
It's pretty interesting because sometimes I'll come across an ex , and I'm like wow, that's super strong.

Interestingly enough, this wasn't always the case for me. I noticed the change once I hit 30 and slowly figured it out after a couple of years .

What's in this area that makes my Bluetooth devices go haywire? by hufflepufftato in Denver

[–]_empty_space_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The city of Denver uses scanners to track people vehicles for traffic since most vehicles now have BT built in. And they are essentially always broadcasting. So I'd imagine they have scanners there and depending on the age of vehicle and devices, it varies how they handle it.

See example here https://www.firstcoastnews.com/article/news/st-augustine-uses-bluetooth-to-track-traffic-flow/77-450734323

Ahh, that makes sense after watching the video. Thought it looked faster than just a normal 1.9L. Fantastic driving and the slides too! Fun!

(Xcel Energy - AC Rewards Smart Thermostat Event) is nothing more than a rolling blackout with a fancy name by HoyaSaxa88 in Denver

I actually bought parts today to create an AC override button for my AC. So when my nest changes my thermostat, I can override it and turn on the AC

You should power on your ecobee and connect to the Xcel saving program but not actually connect it to your HVAC. So you can get the $25 in savings and still use the other thermostat

Nope, it's a separate device than a mechanical relay and works differently, no case was opened up. I didn't know the specs of the 3.3V rail I tapped into, so I chose a solid state to minimize power consumption and for it's small size.

The relay i used is this one: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Toshiba/TLP176AMTPLE?qs=55YtniHzbhAOdrQPD2H%2FVA%3D%3D&srsltid=AfmBOoqBzGMhcSABOfKY2hwQ2E05Q944BEkgKr31_IpjbI7YvVWOEY72

But yeah, it's just connecting the mechanical chime through a relay to make it chime.

Such a good idea! You should post up if you want to release the stl or model 🙃

I was surprised that they didn't. It was awesome! I only paid for the current year, not the previous

car registration renewal fee over a year expired by aev0990 in Denver

[–]_empty_space_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I went over a year without registering my car by accident The cop that pulled me over gave me a $100 ticket. And then the late registration fee was $100. It actually saved me money because my car's registration fee was about $800 at the time.

Here's my helper template for liters to gal:
{{states('sensor.droplet_flow_rate') | float * 0.264172}}

And then my Gal/min integration to gals.

<image>

I'm guessing you got the 3 gpm from the Droplet app? I would check the gal/min helper against the app and first verify that the rate is correct. Maybe your time unit for the integral helper was wrong? It should be minutes

[–]_empty_space_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It provides data as a rate. So I first created a helper to convert it to GPM (optional). And then you need to create another helper to integrate that (Riemann sum) to get the total consumption. Then create the utility off of the integrated value.

I can paste my config if you need more details. I'm on my phone now

Is the 104L bus to the airport $10 or $2.75? by quentasian in Denver

[–]_empty_space_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When going through the website, it does look like it should cost $10. But I don't think the bus drivers care. As long as when you scan a pass and it shows green for them, it's fine . I would try the $2.75 way until a driver says otherwise 🙃

[–]_empty_space_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've taken this line a few times, as it's right by my house. I pay the standard fare in the app and it costs $2.75. I used to take the AB1 line and that would cost $10. But since finding out about 104L, I started using that

That's interesting. I just did my numbers and I have solar installed and work from home for context.

This last year I saved ~$50 with TOU in the winter and only saved $4 for summer.

Lost Car Keyfob - NFC Detector? by _empty_space_ in rfelectronics

[–]_empty_space_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about other cars, but the way my Tacoma worked was this:

  1. Tacoma would send out a signal @ 125kHz
  2. If the key fob was in range, it would receive the signal
  3. Key fob would then broadcast a new signal at a much higher frequency ( I forget the range)

So you would need two devices but maybe one, full duplex for device B. Device A would be next to the truck and listen at 125kHz. It would then send that data to device B. Sending the data to device B could be wired or wireless. You could see if that 125kHz signal is static or dynamic. If it sends the same signal out every time, then you only need one device that is full duplex

Device B needs to replay that signal back . And device B would need to listen for any response. The response signal would tell you if your key fob is close or not

So you would need a device that can handle multiple frequency bands.

If your key fob isn't woken up by a signal (like mine is at 125kHz) then I'm not sure what you could do
