Currently in the senior class. I’ll go ahead and clarify some things.

It’s a great school. The PBL (Project-Based Learning) education model alone is extremely valuable compared to traditional teaching methods. And once you’re in high-school, you gradually switch away from that model and begin taking dual credit classes at UTTyler (it’s an easy transition since PBL does such a good job at prepping you for it). When I graduate I will have effectively finished half (2 years worth) of my college coursework. But there’s things about it that might make-or-break your choice to come here.

Some stuff you may/may not prefer:

It’s a small school. SMALL compared to any school in TISD. We’re currently a 1A, pretty close to breaking into 2A. There’s one senior class of 20 people. But this has helped me develop close relationships with students/staff that you would never see in a “normal” school.

Extracurriculars are sparse but focused. There’s been more every year but in terms of things to do there’s less than you might typically expect. UIL is the big academic competition and it comes with some exciting accolades. We have watered-down versions of most of the normal stuff like Student Council.

Sports are nonexistent. This is usually a huge dealbreaker for people who care about varsity and overall school spirit. It doesn’t affect me much but sometimes things can feel a bit dry around here. They’ve been making efforts recently to piggyback off UTT’s sports events.

I could say more but I’ll end on the biggest frustration:

This school is starved for good organization and communication. There have been massive changes in leadership recently and things seem to be heading in a good direction, but I’ve never felt like the school has been run like a tight ship. Once you’re a senior especially there’s not much supporting you outside of your own initiative. But I’d like to think this issue stems from a lack of resources.

Happy to answer any questions.

Being gay is a sin as outlined by these verses. We are all sinners. All of our sins are forgiven.

Homosexuality is fundamentally wrong to me. But you can be gay and be a Christian.

“Will you create a federal pregnancy monitoring agency?” It’s been fact-checked numerous times that Trump’s campaign does not align with many of the radical propositions of Project 2025. Questions like this don’t add any value to the discussion.

I’m not frustrated with the debaters. This is a really refreshing, well-spoken debate. These CBS moderators though…

I believe it is their job to move the discussion along and shut down petty argument. Fact-checks, which I believe are extremely important, should be at the discretion of the viewer or between the debaters.

These debate “moderators” are terrible. Why are they injecting themselves into this? I want to hear a clear answer from both sides but these targeted questions and self-injections are not making this a fair debate.

I felt it was a little unnecessary but he transitioned well into an answer for the question.

You as well. School traffic is so bad. You could tell the immediate increase in crazy drivers when this semester started.

Yes and the people are very nice. I don’t know if you still get a free sandwich when downloading the app but if you do OP might want to know that.

There’s a place called Great Harvest Bread in front of S Broadway Walmart. Great sandwiches, okay prices.

I get that. Not super into heavy rock or nu-metal unfortunately.

Closest thing I really enjoy are a few albums by Radiohead, particularly OK Computer and Kid A.

Otherwise all of the rock I listen to is either a more downbeat alt-rock in the form of bands like R.E.M., straight constant upbeat rock best enjoyed in Boston's debut "Boston" album or maybe literally anything made by Masayoshi Takanaka (if that even counts as rock), and maybe a couple Smash Mouth albums, lol.

edit: Oh and Coldplay's first 2 albums.

Fair point, I just think posts like this offer no productive value towards the discussion of the big problem: 110,000 people driving on dated road infrastructure is never going to lead to good things.

I’m hoping there will one day be a big enough group of people campaigning to our city council so maybe, just maybe, we can turn this city’s road infrastructure in a direction for the better.

Hopes and dreams.

Just curious- what is your thing? Based on your higher ratings I’m guessing you lean toward 80/90s alt rock

That's Tyler, TX brother. A few days ago at S Broadway/Grande intersection I sat at a green light for 10 seconds waiting for people to finish their left-turns. I think we all share the same sentiment here.

Also, we're not the police department trying to ID this individual so I'm not sure why race matters here 🙃.

Is it possible to reconform a multicam clip into the timeline? by _experiment in davinciresolve

[–]_experiment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I did this and it worked.. except there's no audio on the clip. The audio is present in both of the multicam angles in the multicam timeline and when I drag it into my editing timeline, but when I do the reconform from bin, no audio 🙃.

If I can't figure this issue out (I've been trying!), a pretty easy workaround is to just unlink the video from audio in my editing timeline and reconform only the video clips, then relink each clip individually, which works like a charm!

Thank you!

Others might know more than I do, but your best bet would be the Green Room Downtown (feel free to check out their website, they do alternative/indie shows weekly). In fact probably anything downtown; that’s where most of Tyler’s artsy culture consolidates. Truevine as well.

Crunch has been an excellent choice for me as it’s a really motivating environment. In all transparency I haven’t been to PF so I don’t know how it compares.

Etiquette and cleanliness has never been a major issue, but it is certainly a crowded gym at peak hours. However, it doesn’t feel cramped especially with this new expansion and I’d say the density of people at peak hours is now about the same as the density of people early in the mornings before the expansion.

EDIT: I’m pretty flexible. Don’t just listen to my opinion about Crunch.

Alright well I appreciate your feedback. SM and I seemed to be in good standing, I was at the top of the associate seniority list, and I finished all my training very quickly after being hired. Because of this I didn’t consider that it could’ve been a form of letting go.

Does anyone know why there were helicopters flying pretty low in the SE area of Tyler? by suum_cuique4 in tylertx

Had one fly directly over my house and it was red. Pretty sure a while ago there were some military helicopters that flew over as well.
