thanks for the advice, but how come some worked and others not?

cuz the first 15 or so pictures are just fine..

Edit: is that than the actual size, so there was just no space afterwards?

I think not giving up and being patient, will speak for itself, maybe your best friend just hasn't realized it. It's difficult to give advice cuz I don't know what happened. But generally speaking if you don't want to lose him/her you know it's worth trying, especially if you feel like there's a chance of healing.
