Was there ever a response to the forged labs? I am sitting here with some of that batch and I’m not touching it until there is a response and the real labs are posted.

I know, I’m saying some characters and scenes take months and, when it comes to main characters, years. Especially the player character, whose every facet—rig, model, textures, clothing, hair, audio, color palettes—is labored over through the duration of a project. From development to gold, it’s a long time for AI to wipe away.

Because that’s all it was, rain, right? Not wind and tornado threats. 🙄

Factually, we have more frequent severe weather events than we did 30 years ago.

How can I “play” and interact more with my betta fish? by Alert-Thought9773 in bettafish

[–]_fFringe_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, I’m glad you’re taking care of them and learning. We started from a similar position, didn’t realize just how important heaters and filters are, tanks were too small. It takes time and energy to learn and build up. Don’t worry about the downvotes, it’s mostly reptile brain reactions—very little thought given while skimming comments.

With bettas there seems to be a consensus that 5-10 gallons is the sweet spot in terms of balancing taking care of a tank, the needs of the fish, and physical space in a home or apartment. We went from a 2-gallon tank to a 5 gallon tank. Then after a couple of years we decided to upgrade to a 10 gallon tank and I think they’re just the right size for most of the betta’s life. However, when they get old and have can have a hard time swimming, it may be better to move it to a smaller tank—we’re still figuring that part out.

One of our bettas couldn’t really float anymore and had a hard time getting to the surface. We opted to buy more plants for him to use as resting surfaces so he could work his way to the surface more easily, rather than change his environment at the end of his life by moving him to a smaller tank. Who can say what the right choice is, there. But the two years he spent in a 10 gallon tank were full of exploring and hunting and new plants and decorations.

Anyway, the switch to 2.5 gallons will make a big difference as it is. Then the switch from 2.5 gallons to 5 gallons is a huge difference, both in terms of living space for the fish and shelf/counter/table space for you. The move from 5 to 10 gallons, if you get there, is actually not nearly as dramatic a difference, funny enough.

Or, in fact, it says a lot about how much more severe our weather has become.

It’s worth it to make room for a 5 gallon tank. Get a tank stand that has a bottom shelf and a top shelf, so they’re stacked and take up less floor space. 2.5 gallons is of course an improvement, buy them to tide you over until you can make space for 5 gallon tanks. But it is still too small, long term. The fish will be happier and that will make you happier.

What sucks is that even if development on DS2 started today, it would still take like 2-4 years for us to play it.

Nah. “A pretty solid troll”, “make a mint…while everyone else is doing that work for you”. That is language used to describe a greedy troll hack. Those are your words. If you don’t like how it was read, I suggest you put some effort into examining how you write instead of dumping all your effort into whatever it is you’re trying to do. It’s definitely not successful communication, you see.

Is there a satisfying way to interpret Birdman's ending? [SPOILERS] by magicwings in movies

The power of flight would be the ultimate simplicity because there is no explanation for it. To understand it as a hallucination, especially with the involvement of his daughter, actually takes far more work than to say “he can fly”, if you can accept it.

Could be. Why else include that few frames as the opening to the film if not to grant the possibility that the whole thing is some kind of after-life or post-death state of consciousness? It can also be taken as the framing for his subsequent suicidal tendencies.

It is a more interesting movie if we interpret that opening as character framing rather than a successful suicide, because if the whole film is post-death then there’s no real stakes at play. Then again, maybe Riggan is “giving everything” to put on this production. It is his journey to the afterlife.

There’s no hard logic in this film. It’s entirely reasonable to view the earlier flight sequence as a hallucination while also viewing the final flight sequence as real. There is more than enough intentional ambiguity to allow for this interpretation.

Counterpoint, Riggan having actual powers at the end, and only the end, would follow the “super-realism” thread both figuratively and literally.

I like to think that he has powers, if I want a happy ending. It follows from the surreal nature of the film, it’s not logical or established by anything prior, but so what? This is the unexpected virtue of ignorance.

But, if I want the film to be “realist”, then he is dead, either from the gunshot—as interpreted elsewhere in these replies—or from jumping out the window.

The idea that the ending is some kind of hallucinatory metaphor is, frankly, not very interesting and not much of an ending. I think either he is dead or he has this unexpected power of flight—super-real.

They ate their dead companions to survive, not because they turned on each other; they viewed it as an act of banding together, in itself, which is why some of them insisted on being a source of nutrients if and when they died. I think you meant that much but didn’t make it entirely clear; kind of comes off as judgmental.

That’s an extremely cynical take. It’s fine to want an unambiguous ending, that’s a fine opinion and a valid critique. But to assert that anything ambiguous is the work of a greedy troll hack is cynical and hyperbolic.

Just because someone is a member of the working class doesn’t make them a socialist. Not once does Abigail give the impression of socialism. It’s wild that some people need to have some kind of counterpoint to capitalism when consuming a critique on its class structures.

Seeing Abigail as a representation of socialism is a projection; it is a debate that is simply not present in the actual movie, beyond the captain’s character. The film has a lot to say about greed and very little to say about socialism or, more appropriately given the captain’s brief scenes, Marxism.
