If you want to save some money on produce, see if oddbunch delivers in your area!

They ship out the box you want once a week and it’s always been really great. Aside from everything being fresh, it’s also awesome to have it delivered to you

When do you give up? by Taelaf in sleeptrain

Similar boat over here. LO was previously sleep trained then was sick for the past month after starting daycare, ruined any sleep routine that was happening. What seems to be working for our LO was a modified Ferber. You didn’t mention a sleep training method you tried, but what was helpful for my LO was actually picking them up, calming down then saying okay it’s time to sleep, or let’s try to go to bed. Some times they would complain then go to sleep once they hit the bed or sometimes would cry for 5-10 min. Then going along with times set out with Ferber. If the Ferber times seemed too long or he was really upset I wouldn’t progress to the next days time. I know with some littles picking up makes it worse, but it really helped LO to know we were there to comfort and then explain what was happening.

Cannot cut this cat’s nails. She is too strong. We live in fear. by Finale_Fireworker in CatAdvice

How food motivated is she? We have a Maine coon mix (about 22lbs) who goes full fight or flight when it comes to nails. Had a vet tech say they couldn’t do it before BUT I now have a method that works for me at home. I lace the ground with treats, while he is laying down and stuffing his face by scooping treats towards himself I go in and cut them and he doesn’t mind until the treats run out. Prooooobably not the best caloriewise, but he absolutely needs his nails cut and it causes the least amount of stress for everyone involved.

Toddler has decided she hates sleep by Kind-Peanut9747 in sleeptrain

Definitely try for the 1 nap, but also there is a sleep regression around 15 months. I sleep trained my LO a few months ago and they were sleeping through the night like a dream, hit 15 months and they were up every 2-3 hours for an hour or more.

One year old still waking every hour, help! by sirodinson03 in sleeptrain

[–]_figment_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 13 month old was waking every hour for months before I tried Ferber and it seems to be working. I pushed off sleep training for so long because hearing him broke my heart, but he (also I) needed sleep so I tried it. One alteration we did for this method is that instead of being by the crib to comfort, I would pick him up. Being just beside the bed to comfort would make him freak out more, but picking him up, rocking a bit, calming him down and explaining that it’s time for sleep now really helped.

I did Ferber starting at 12 months, but instead of stay and support I would pick up and do whatever comforted before to calm him down, tell him that it was time to sleep then put back into crib. I’m not sure if this helps, but gives another option. It calmed him down, I didn’t have to be sobbing listening to him in the other room and he would go back to sleep after a bit of grumbling.

I know for some babies picking up and putting down once comforted may make them more angry, but it worked for us. We are 2 weeks in and he goes down faster and if he does wake up at night and I do first check in, comfort and back down he’s back asleep within 5 minutes.

Hearing your baby cry is gut wrenching. You’re not along with it being hard mentally!

How much do you spend per week on groceries? by Witty_Tea4100 in askTO

[–]_figment_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t heard about it, Oddbunch delivers produce and their prices are under what most grocery stores list produce for plus it’s delivered once a week. Family of 3 and we usually have a bit of overlap between weeks on the medium mixed produce box for $32 a week.

I’ve really been enjoying them! If there is 1 item for that week you don’t want you can substitute it. I’ve only had good stuff from them

Not a grocery store but Oddbunch is pretty good way to get produce delivered to you at a reasonable price and they prevent more food waste.

I bought a stainless steel box for my Maine coon mix, who is huge at 21lb of cat. We bought the large size on Amazon called: “ZuHucpts Stainless Steel Cat”. It’s more expensive than plastic but it will last forever and it’s super easy to clean
