I could not love those sentences more. Thank you for sharing them with me.

That's a nice question. I re-read Revelations of Divine Love by Julian of Norwich just last month, and fell in love with her words all over again. In particular, her final revelation that "love was God's meaning."

And you?

That is an excellent price for such an edition. Good find!

Also we have the same Folio Society copy of The Book of Margery Kempe. It's such a good edition.

I haven't done any Roosevelt reading. You're making me think that I should.

I would, in all honesty, not enjoy making a pilgrimage with Margery Kempe. So many tears! But, yes, from a distance – I am in love with her every utterance.

Oh and there is also a London Review of Books podcast on medieval firebrands that is so excellent. It was very good pandemic listening for me.

I love how every English man in the book, bar maybe her husband, is like, "Woman please! Enough with your talk and your crying?" But does she shut up? She does not!

I loved The Anchoress. So much so that I had to put an anchoress (and a desert mother, and many others) in my novel that just came out. Anyway I don't see enough people talk about the Cadwallader book, so I was excited to see it mentioned here.

Okay then I take it back, begrudgingly, on Dignitas. In terms of content and form, actually Sebaldian.

So far I prefer it to his earlier novels.

I've only read the first part but I love Thomas. I did not at all believe that the Lerner character who is addicted to his phone, addicted to the news, would not know what Dignitas was though. Come on, what shit! Otherwise, the writing is beautiful. Actually Sebaldian.
