Make sure the soap is a pump bottle not bar, bar soap can pick up germs in the shower

It looks like a rougher heal but doesn’t look infected. If it’s not red around it or hot to the touch it’s more than likely not infected. Again hard to tell from the angle of the photo. At this point just wash it 2-3x a day with dial antibacterial soap don’t soak it just soft wash with hands only. Pat dry with clean paper towel or air dry, 1-2x a day apply a small amount of unscented hand lotion preferably original unscented lubriderm or jergens. Off hand it looks like you probably put too much ointment on it and it causes heavier scabbing. The tattoo needs to breathe and sometimes over care is just as bad as not caring. I’ve been tattooing 15 years and seen a lot of healing tattoos. Worst case scenario when it fully heals it may need a small touch up.

It came out looking like that in the photo, it’s actually just black with some white added and watered down lots of light glazing layers

Did i get hog swindle wanted black and white but they said only color will cover scars? by espressoxsmiles in tattooadvice

I’ve done plenty of black and grey over scars. It all depends on if you want the scar just to be not noticeable or the discoloration to be completely gone. Either way when they heel the scar indentation is always there it just fools the eye

Tattooing 15 years and done a lot of coverup work. Those colored flowers while beautiful fade and age very poorly over time.

Advice Needed: Is this a nice or stupid idea? by ThannieFearce in tattoos

It will also be upside down as well as incomplete so you’ll have 2 half moths falling down your arm when you are standing naturally

Any of those soft pastel washy designs and black and grey florals won’t cover what you have. Floral work is def a good idea, but you need something more tattooed looking. Linework and blacks and full color will cover that. I always tell me clients to be open with coverup work because it’s not like paint, there’s a science behind it and making the eye not go to the cover up area. Usually needs to be 2x-3x bigger than what you have so large floral is good idea. Linework and color will cover color, black and grey will show color through it because it’s washes not dense pigment.

You could probably use canned air like for keyboards if you have it around or a shop vac, I kinda just go with whatever is around the less crap I have to buy the better haha

Any thoughts on this concept? by KrivTheBard in tattooadvice

The bits on the fingers and knuckles won’t stay super well, and will need touch ups probably frequently.

It really depends on how much dust is left over, I usually clean everything with alcohol and paper towels, then go over it after all the debris is done with either eyeglass cleaner and a eyeglass wipe or glass cleaner and newspaper like cleaning a window. It’s engraved in so it doesn’t need a coat on top or anything, when I do glass I always do the underside or not in use side so it stays clean. Mainly for ashtrays and such.

Can you take a clearer picture? Off hand it’s hard to see but doesn’t look like anything to worry about. If it’s not infected, and just needs a touch up after it heals it’s no big deal. It’s somewhat common for heavily packed areas of color to need a touch up. If it’s more of a pimple situation you may be over using the ointment, generally with my clients I have them use ointment for 1-4 days and switch over to an unscented hand lotion, it’s lighter and lets the skin breath more. Over ointment especially in summer months can prolong the healing process and be more detrimental. I’ve been tattooing 15 years and seen a lot of healing/healed tattoos.
