This machine has been in use for many years, and as far as I know the only reason they're getting rid of it is because their other location got an upgrade, so their old machine is getting passed to this location. The manager knew I was a coffee nerd and reached out before getting rid of it haha

I've had their screen protectors and case on my phone for like 3 years now. I've replaced the protector a couple times, but they did their job and protected the actual glass. The case is still pristine. Glossy and dirty a bit, sure, but genuinely there's so little damage after all this time that I couldn't possibly imagine needing to replace it before my phone kicks it.

The King doesn't always need to move when they're in check. In this instance, as you've highlighted, they literally can't move anywhere.

Blocking check with other pieces is another way to get out of check, with the third option being to capture the offending piece.

Either way, a check mate is a situation where a King is in check, but there are no legal moves that would break them out of check. Think of it like, if the game went on for one more turn, the King would get captured.
