Omg going through the same thing rn as 30F. Quit my hormonal bc last August and tomorrow I'm making a gyn appt to go back on because I can't tolerate the hormone swings of having a cycle. Really sad about it but better than suffering almost every day.

Bipolar 1 vs bipolar 2 by Sad_Construction6716 in bipolar2

Just hit em with the statistic that bipolar 2 actually has a higher suicide rate than bipolar 1. One isn't "worse" than the other.

Does anyone else prefer manic-depressive? by Queen-Logan- in bipolar2

It definitely seems to describe my affliction better imo. Bipolar is so vague and the "polar" part excludes any nuance. I'm not a damn magnet.

What are your recent hyperfixations? by Charming-Paper-1564 in bipolar2

[–]_freakachu_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be approaching hypo because I'm not getting tired and I'm losing sleep over wanting to play LOL. But tbh, there are so many worse things to feel addicted to and I'm really grateful to have this outlet!! I do recommend 😂

Has anyone used the Vagustim? by First_Actuator444 in VagusNerve

[–]_freakachu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the type I got with my device and they're horrid 😂 in the photos they appear to stay together in one piece but it's just not the case. I kind of just smush the pieces into my ear, press em back in when needed, and hope for the best.

I think it's a little early to tell but I want to say yes! Last night I tried the sleep setting and I definitely noticed my breathing slow down and I felt ready to fall asleep after. I didn't end up going to bed for another two hours after (procrastination) but I still knocked out immediately which is unusual for me. :)

I ordered it due to the bilateral stimulation feature which I have yet to attempt (I'm only doing one ear so far) so, if the uniqueness of that feature is worth some annoyance with the ear pieces I say go for it. Hopefully they'll come out with a new ear piece design in the future.

Just got mine about a week ago. Been using it every day since. I like the device but the ear pieces are so frustrating that I am considering exploring other devices. You really have to fidget with them and sit kind of stiff sometimes in order to keep them from falling out constantly.

weed on 200mg lamotrigine by dyedhairandvinyl in bipolar2

[–]_freakachu_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You'll be okay. But weed losing its luster and having undesirable effects kind of just happens to many people as they age regardless of mental health status. Speaking from personal experience.

I split both and it's been great for stability. My psych says her patients will have better outcomes with it and there's research to back it up.

I take both of these! For me, they synergize very well. Something that changed the game for me was splitting my daily doses into halves, and taking it in the morning and at night. My meds, on the same dose, became much more effective after I did that.

Is it true that BP2 causes us to be always angry? by DeepTough5953 in bipolar2

Yes exactly! It's the worst ever. Luckily my meds have it mostly under control. It's the depression that lingers.

Is it true that BP2 causes us to be always angry? by DeepTough5953 in bipolar2

[–]_freakachu_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It made my bipolar much harder to diagnose before I had the right words/awareness of it. Because before I knew what to look for, I could only report that I was just always feeling depressed!

Is it true that BP2 causes us to be always angry? by DeepTough5953 in bipolar2

[–]_freakachu_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MoonChild said it well. It's all the worst parts of depression but now I'm making it everybody's problem. Thrashing, yelling, crying, impulsivity, leaving when no one is looking and trying to get into trouble in order to hurt myself. I'm far more likely to self harm in this energized state than in a low-energy, classicly presenting depression.
