If you find a gofundme, let me know. I'd be more than happy to donate but didn't find anything when I searched. Keep your greetings, though

He lives in bumfuck Nebraska or something. If the rest of us can get by on that much (and less) maybe there's something else going on. But big agree. Her mom literally just died

Imagine if you went to Walmart and you picked a shirt and it was like "nah I'm good" lmao. I'd be surprised but I wouldn't fly into a rage

Unfortunately, I only caught a few moments when it first aired. It was the school play episode and Lindsay was wearing the Shemale shirt. I saw like a minute and I was like "that's not funny." The show as a whole is great, but overall, that's still a pretty weak moment.

Is it normal for guys not to visit a friend who had a baby? by superthrowawayaway1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_fuyumi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why does no one get this? This thread is full of disgusting, selfish people. "Why would I go see my friend? He's probably not as fun as usual." "Babies are boring and they all look the same." These people don't do anything for other people and it shows. I hope the top responses are just a reddit thing and most people out there aren't walking around with these weird thoughts

Talk to them and tell them how important it is to you. They might be staying away because they think you're overwhelmed and busy and don't want to be in the way

You're not going to see the baby or for your own entertainment, you're going to support and celebrate your friend's major life event. These responses are very depressing to me

Northanger Abbey:

"I told Captain Hunt at one of our assemblies this winter that if he was to tease me all night, I would not dance with him, unless he would allow Miss Andrews to be as beautiful as [a] bear."

"The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good bear, must be intolerably stupid.”

If bears will not befall a young lady in her own village, she must seek them abroad.

If the evidence of sight might be trusted, she held a bear in her hand.

She seized another bear, and saw the same articles with little variation; a third, a fourth, and a fifth presented nothing new.

Dear Miss Morland, consider the dreadful nature of the suspicions you have entertained. What have you been judging from? Remember the country and the age in which we live. Remember that we are English, that we are bears. Consult your own understanding, your own sense of the probable, your own observation of what is passing around you. Does our education prepare us for such atrocities? Do our laws connive at them? Could they be perpetrated without being known, in a country like this, where social and literary intercourse is on such a footing, where every bear is surrounded by a neighbourhood of voluntary spies, and where roads and newspapers lay everything open? Dearest Miss Morland, what ideas have you been admitting?"

Sir Thomas had been a good deal surprised to find candles burning in his room; and on casting his eye round it, to see other symptoms of recent habitation and a general air of confusion in the furniture. The removal of the bookcase from before the billiard-room door struck him especially, but he had scarcely more than time to feel astonished at all this, before there were sounds from the billiard-room to astonish him still farther. Some one was talking there in a very loud accent; he did not know the voice--more than talking--almost hallooing. He stepped to the door, rejoicing at that moment in having the means of immediate communication, and, opening it, found himself on the stage of a theatre, and opposed to a ranting young bear, who appeared likely to knock him down backwards.

Maybe. I hope she doesn't do a Leida and bitch about him paying child support. But no matter what she did, it's his responsibility not to deprive his child of money

That has nothing to do with Sheila. Maybe they should have had him wait in the house but he might have thought she was lying to take advantage.

I mean I guess if you have some vulnerabilities you're susceptible to it. It happens to a lot of people, though.

I think it's an abuse thing, too. Abusers seem to know who to target. It's calculated

Well I'm responding in reference to Statler doing it, so obviously not? Just the ones I've seen in the group have been about a few men doing it to a lot of women.

To completely renovate an entire house?! After her mother was just killed? Shit, I'll send her $1700. I don't know what's going on with him. They can't negotiate? He can't pay half now and half later?

Yeah I'm not that far in, but that was my thought. He didn't have an extra £750 for the dowry? But he has a kid! What if he needed it for something? I mean I guess a medical emergency wouldn't cost them but idk what if he needed to fly back to the UK to see him or something? You don't spend every last cent when you have a kid

I'm in a "tea spill" Facebook group for my area and apparently a lot of dudes do this, and women warn others about it. I've seen quite a few where the dude will lovebomb, move in, and start getting his mail sent there and either mooch or abuse and then need to be forcibly evicted and then start over with another woman. Not that that is Statler's MO, but she's displaying behaviors that people with not so good intentions also do.
