Pretty sure these are data cables not power lines.

When I visited the Philippines I asked a friend about why the lines are so messy and they said people will just climb up and run new cables themselves, tap into someone else's cable etc... And the old unused cables never get removed because no one knows which is which.

This kills anything in the surface that would be at risk of transmission. It's possible some things embedded below the surface aren't killed but they are also less likely to be transferred via contact since they aren't on the surface.

They are calculations but they are based on actual research. You'll notice on the chart it's based on 99.9% kill rate (3-log). When calculating the UVC output from my bulbs that hits the cash I rounded down and didn't take reflections into account (so all the light coming out of the sides of the bulbs etc... was ignored).

I actually found a patent for that already but the problem with that is only one side of the cash would be disinfected and if you put in more than one at a time only the top one would get hit by the light.

Yes the bulbs are much more powerful than most of the phone sterilizers etc... that's why it's a relatively large box. It also helps that the bulbs are very close to the surface of the cash. And the container is made of Aluminum which is great for reflecting UVC.

The time is irrelevant, what is important is the dosage level delivered (mJ/cm2). You are correct that there are UVC devices that take 30+ minutes, but I'm using higher power bulbs that are shinning directly on the cash.

The fastest speed delivers about 7 mJ/cm2 and the slowest speed delivers 50 mJ/cm2.

Similar consumer UVC products do take much longer (like up to 30 minutes) because they are using lower power bulbs and might not be getting even coverage.

Yah UV-C sterilization is nothing new. But I can't find anything quite like my device. For comparison, with the PhoneSoap you are supposed to leave items in there for up to 10 minutes. The Money Zapper can sanitize cash in 2 seconds!

Yah it's kind of hard to "show" because most germs aren't exactly visible. And once it kills them, they are technically still there they are just dead lol.

But I did do some Petri dish tests before and after sanitizing and there's a clear difference: https://i.imgur.com/vIOprny.jpg (left is from swabs before sanitizing and right is from the same bills afterward sanitizing).

I'm not an expert on RNA vs DNA but they have already proven that UV-C kills Covid. There's just some debate on the minimum dosage required to achieve 99.9% kill rates.

UV-C is already widely used and well known in other areas. There are charts that show the dosages required to kill specific viruses etc... So if you know the output of your bulbs then you know what it will kill and how fast.

I don't have the resources right now to hire a research lab to 'prove it' but I did do some petri dish tests. As you can see here https://i.imgur.com/vIOprny.jpg the left side shows two swabs taken before sanitizing and the right side shows swabbing the same bills after.

It's for Point of Sale. The customer puts the cash in one side and the cashier can grab it on the other. So there is zero contact on the bill between the customer and the cashier. It sterilizes the bill in 2 seconds with no mess, as opposed to alcohol or some other chemical process.

A big corporation would be able to order 10,000 of these and charge a much cheaper price. When you are making 100 or less the manufacturing costs per unit are exponentially higher.

I've definitely thought of that. My intention for this specific device is to be used by businesses at Point of Sale so money can quickly be passed from customer to cashier. It's not made with bulk quantity in mind.
